Disposable diaper

The invention is directed to a disposable diaper comprising an outer, moisture-impermeable plastic film and an inner nonwoven insert.

Such disposable diapers are used for babies and toddlers as well as for incontinent adults.

Since such diapers are worn constantly like a piece of clothing, they must not only reliably absorb and retain the respective bodily excretions, but they must also meet the requirements that are basically also placed on items of clothing.

surface, which means that clothing worn over the diaper easily slips. In order to counteract this, attempts have already been made to roughen the surface of the plastic film using various methods, without the basic character of a plastic film being completely lost.

The invention is based on the object of designing a disposable diaper of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that it can be designed in a manner comparable to a textile item of clothing while maintaining or improving its functionality.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the plastic film is provided on its outside with a fleece layer.

The fleece layer can be applied to the plastic film by laminating the film with the fleece layer, by extruding the film onto the fleece layer, or by extruding the fleece layer and film in a type of coextrusion.

Advantageously, a polyolefin film, preferably a polyethylene film, is used as the plastic film, which due to its connection with the fleece layer can be considerably thinner than conventionally used films, ie for example 10 to 12μ thick with a basis weight of 10 g/m ² , whereby the fleece layer can have a basis weight of 15 to 25 g/m ² .

Such a thin plastic film not only significantly reduces the inherent rigidity of the film and the associated rustling noise, but also allows a level of breathability that is not possible with conventional diapers, so that on the one hand any moisture that occurs inside the diaper is absolutely safely retained, and on the other hand even if the diaper is worn for a long time without interruption, the skin underneath can breathe and remain undamaged. To increase breathability even further, the film can be provided with microporosity, which allows vaporous moisture to pass through, but makes liquids impossible to pass through.

The design according to the invention also provides good slip resistance against clothing worn with the diaper, which is particularly important for incontinent adults. The diaper also has a textile appearance, which is particularly important when small children wear the diaper without pants on, as is often the case in summer.

Finally, the combination of fleece and plastic film also provides good tear resistance, so that standard adhesive fasteners can be securely attached.
