Die Kohlung auf höhere Gehalte erfordert besondere Maßnahmen, die die Arbeitsweise umständlich und teuer machen. Auf diese Weise gelingt es, ein Roheisen 'mit einem Kohlenstoffgehalt bis etwa 4,50/0 mühelos zu erschmelzen.
