Modular push button

The invention relates to a modular push button for single- or multi-pole closing of electrical circuits, which can be adapted to the respective application by replacing or adding design or handling elements.

Such push buttons of known design have the disadvantage that they are designed for specific areas of application and have no or only limited options for individual adaptation.

The invention is based on the object of creating a functionally reliable push button that can be manufactured economically and can be adapted to the individual application by adding or replacing design or handling elements.

In the inventive design, all elements required for making contact are integrated into a basic module, which is designed in such a way that separate use, but also the modulation of additional design and functional elements is possible.

By appropriately designing the actuator of the push button, the basic module can be tailored to specific applications.

In the first step of the extended design of the basic module, a sealing film is applied above the actuator, which is held in place by an adhesive in the recess provided. By simultaneously attaching an adhesive seal to the back of the basic module, a closed, sealed switching element is achieved that can be attached and sealed directly to both printed circuit boards and front panels using the adhesive seal.

In a special design, the sealing film is printed on the front or back, allowing any color or symbol statement to be made.

By placing a cover ring over the base module with printed sealing film, a clear demarcation of the touch and design area is achieved. At the same time, connecting or adhesive edges are covered. By designing the cover ring in multiple colors, additional design elements are created.

In another inventive design, a button is placed over the basic module, which enlarges the operating surface and allows any desired shape or color adaptation.

By inserting a label into the button, which is held in place by an adhesive layer, further design customization options are possible.

To hold the cover ring or the button on the base module, special Raj \:bars are formed on it, which communicate with the locking lugs in the cover ring or button in such a way that a detachable connection is created.

In a further inventive design, the sealing film is embossed over the actuator in the base module in such a way that the largest possible actuation path is achieved and the actuation forces are kept low.

Fig. 1 shows the modular push button in longitudinal section, with the electrical base unit shown as the base module (1). The click frog (5) is inserted into the base (6) in such a way that it communicates with one of the contact pins (9) and is held in position.

The base module (1) is limited at the top by the cover (4), which is positively and force-fitted to the base (6) using standard connection methods such as gluing, ultrasound, etc. The actuator (2) is guided and held in the cover (4) in such a way that it can be pressed axially downwards, whereby the click frog (5) also orientates itself in the same direction and, after reaching the snap-through limit, comes into contact with the free contact (9), thus closing the circuit.

Two or more contacts (9) can be integrated into the base module (1) depending on the technical requirements, which makes multi-pole circuits possible. The recess (3) is provided in the cover (4) to accommodate modular elements. Guide bars (8) are located on the back of the base (6) for this purpose. The centering of the base module (1) to the front or circuit board is carried out via the centering pin (7), one or more of which can be attached to the base module.

In principle, the basic module (1) can be manufactured in any geometric shape in the surface design.

In Fig. 2, the sealing film (10) is inserted into the base module (1), which has an embossing (19) adapted to the actuator (2). The attachment to the base module is done via an adhesive (11) which takes on the role of holder and seal. The adhesive seal (12) is attached to the underside of the base module (1).

The further modular construction is shown in Fig. 3 , where the cover ring (13) is placed over the basic module described in Fig. 1 and 2 and is held in a form-fitting manner on the basic module (1) by a locking web (14) and locking lug (15). In this design, the sealing film (10) is sensibly printed on the front or back and adapted to the shape of the actuator (2) by embossing (19), which also takes the design requirements into account. This design can also be produced in the version described in Fig. 2 with sealing film (10) and with an adhesive seal (12).

Fig. 4 shows the basic module (1) with a push-on button (16) with an integrated label (18) that is positively connected to the button (16) by the adhesive layer (17). The mounting on the basic module (1) is done via a locking bar (14) and locking lug (15). This design can also be produced in the version described in Fig. 2 with a sealing film (10) and an adhesive seal (12).

Modular push button for single and multi-pole closing of electrical circuits, consisting of an electrical base module to which, depending on the application, different module elements are attached that communicate with each other, characterized by the electrical base module (1) consisting of the base (6) with molded-on centering pins (7) and integrated contacts (9), above which is the click frog (5) which is held by the actuator (2) guided in the cover (4) and limited at the top in such a way that an axial switching movement is possible. 2. Modular push button according to claim 1, characterized in that the sealing film (10) with adhesive (11) and adhesive seal (12) are attached to the base module (1) in a force-fitting manner so that a sealed functional unit is produced. 3. Modular push button according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the cover ring (13) is clipped onto the base module (1). 4. Modular push button according to claims 1-3, characterized in that a push button (16) is clipped onto the base module (1). 5. Modular push button according to claims 1-4, characterized in that the label plate (18) with adhesive layer (17) is inserted into the push button (16) and is connected in a force-fitting manner. 6. Modular push button according to claims 1-5, characterized in that the cover ring (13) and push button (16) are loosely attached to the base module (1) by means of a locking web (14) and locking lug (15). 7. Modular push button according to claims 1-6, characterized in that the sealing film (10) is provided with an embossing (]/').
