Verarbeitungsverfahren und Anwendungsgebiete einzusetzen, bei denen eine länger;
Process for the production of molded compositions The present invention relates to improvements in the production of molded compositions from halogen-containing high molecular weight substances, and in particular those based on vinyl chloride, such as e.g. B. polyvinyl chloride itself or copolymers of vinyl chloride with other polymerizable substances such as acrylic acid esters, also chlorinated rubber, mixed polymers from ethylidene chloride, chloroprene polymers ti. The products mentioned, and in particular of the polyvinyl chloride itself, tend to both undesirable discoloration and the splitting off of hydrochloric acid. These disadvantages are generally stronger in appearance, j e IThe higher processing temperature and the longer the thermal stress. Compounds with ethylene oxide groups and alkaline additives such as soda have already been proposed as stabilizers for such products. The stabilizing effect of these additives, however, is limited to the interception of the hydrochloric acid that is split off. Their stabilizing effect goes against it. not in the direction that the splitting off of hydrochloric acid is delayed, in addition they cannot delay or prevent discoloration of the relevant materials to a sufficient extent. It therefore order considerable difficulties to use the halogen-containing high molecular weight substances of the type defined above for all such processing methods and areas of application in which a longer; permanent stress at higher temperatures is possible. In particular, the injection molding process should be mentioned in this context, in which particularly high temperatures are required. Processing methods in which a particularly long exposure to higher temperatures is unavoidable, for example the production of cable compounds by overmolding, should also be mentioned; In this case, the long temperature stress occurs in particular due to the fact that considerable amounts of material waste arise which have to be reprocessed. Difficulties of the type mentioned exist in particular with polyvinyl chloride itself. If no plasticizers are present, this material requires, for. B. an injection temperature of about 2, oo '. Although the injection temperature can be reduced by adding plasticizers, the disadvantages mentioned also occur if these temperatures are exposed for a longer period of time.
o,i bis 5 %.
Beispiel i ioo Gewichtsteile

i Gewichtsteil 2-Phenylindol kurze Zeit in einer Mischapparatur behandelt.

Suitable agents of this type are, in addition to the indole itself, for example a-alkyl or a-aryl substitution products thereof as well as naphthindoles and compounds of the tetrahydrocarbazole type; Closed chain) aliphatic substituents. The additives of the type mentioned are effective even in extremely small amounts of, for example 0.1 to 5 %. It is advisable to incorporate the mentioned auxiliaries into the halogen-containing compounds as early as possible during processing, for example in a mixing apparatus, optionally together with the fillers, plasticizers and the like that are otherwise to be incorporated treated a-methylindole for a short time in a ball mill. The further processing of this mixture takes place on a mixing roller at temperatures of 160 to 18, o 'for the purpose of plasticization. The rolled sheet obtained in this way is then pressed on a printing press at temperatures of 117 ° to 50 °. The compacts are characterized by a very light inherent color and good transparency and also by the fact that only slight discoloration occurs even when longer pressing times are used. Example 2 go parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride are briefly treated with the addition of io parts by weight of tricresyl phosphate and i part by weight of 2-phenylindole in a mixing apparatus. Then the whole thing is processed further on a mixing roller at 16o to i, 7o 'to form a rolled skin. The rolled sheet is crushed in a crusher to a grain size suitable for injection molding. When this compound is processed on an injection molding machine or when this compound is used to encapsulate cables, a very light-colored end product is obtained. Example 3, 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride are treated for a short time in a mixing apparatus with the addition of 1 part by weight: z-phenyl-a-naphthenol and then processed into films on a mixing roller at 1: 70 to 18.0 '. The light- arbigen f or f arblosen films are laminated at about 170 to 1851 sheets.
Beispiel 4 iooGewichtsteile

The compacts are characterized by a very light inherent color and good transparency. Example 5 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride are intimately mixed with the addition of 1 part by weight of 2-naphthylindole. The whole thing is plasticized after standing on a mixing roller at temperatures of 175 to 185 "and processed into a rolled skin. After cooling, the rolled skin is comminuted in a crusher to the usual grain size for injection molding compounds moldings of ggtem appearance and good thermal stability. -
