Description
Method of making a double chain stitch seam. The invention relates to a method for producing a double chain stitch seam. Double zette stitch seams per se are already known. It is particularly important because of their elasticity It is an extremely useful seam, but it is not suitable for many purposes can be used because it separates too easily as soon as the end of the seam on the looper thread is related. -This property makes itself felt in particularly heavily used areas very uncomfortably noticeable if the sewing threads broke by any coincidence because here the seam can be slightly stretched by pulling on the fabric parts can separate itself.
It has already become known that the seam can be completely severed to prevent the looper thread from cutting through at periodic intervals so that the finished seam has a number of individual looper thread lengths. The interfaces are in the seam in such a way that the last one at each interface Loop through each looper thread length on its associated needle thread loop the end piece of the last looper thread loop passing through the needle thread loop locked and thus prevented from sliding off the needle thread loop. at Unintentional thread breakage between the periodic interfaces can therefore The opening of the seam only ever occur piece by piece up to the next cut.
This known method has the disadvantage. .that the manufactured Double chainstitch seam as a result of the multiple cutting of the looper thread from is defective in a certain sense from the outset.
To remedy this is the purpose of the invention -, whose U'esen consists in that to achieve a locking of the seam and consolidation against pulling and reinforcement of the seam in certain seam sections during When the machine is running, the stitch length of the same at the particularly stressed points is reduced in size and at the same time to change the loop formation in slacken the needle thread tensioned and possibly t1. _The gripper tension is tightened in such a way that that the length of the part of the needle thread loop lies outside the workpiece thickness is larger than the stitch length.
In the drawing are various exemplary embodiments of double chainstitch seams illustrated. Fig. I shows a normal double chain stitch seam, Fig. 2 the same Seen from below, Fig.3 two pieces of fabric stretched out and sewn together,. @ bl). 4. a normal double chainstitch seam in section with partially severed looper thread, Fig.3 the aforementioned double chainstitch seam seen from below.
Abb. Fig. F a double chainstitch seam in section with a long. \ Acl - Ifadetic loop, Fig .; the same also seen from below, Fig. 8 a normal and shortened one Double chain stitch in the cut.
Mih.9 denselben wiederum von unten gesehen und Abb. io und i i jeweils einen verkürzten Doppellcettenstich mit langer Nadelfadenschleife (vergrößerter Maßstab).Mih.9 the same again seen from below and Fig. Io and i i respectively a shortened double chain stitch with a long needle thread loop (enlarged Scale).
According to the procedure, the aim is to make double chainstitch seams any Length and in any seam sections, for example at the beginning or at the end to lock a seam in such a way that an unintentional separation of the same as a result Pull on the looper thread is no longer possible. This is achieved through appropriate Extension of the needle thread loop, the formation of which is caused by playing by weakening the needle thread tension at possibly 1. simultaneous reinforcement of the Looper thread tension and shortening of the stitch.
Figs. I, -2, d. and 3 of the drawing leave a normal, so recognize a double chainstitch known per se, in which, in order to achieve a possible To achieve tight sewing or sticking of pieces of fabric, the needle thread is tightened so strongly that, for example, when two pieces of fabric are pulled apart (see Fig. 3) the needle thread a at the fold point on the upper side of the fabric, if possible Little to see and when pulling out the looper thread also the needle thread loop b (see fig. q. and 5) hardly noticeable on the underside of the sewn pieces of fabric is. In order to achieve sufficient elasticity of the seams, the As shown in Fig. 2, the looper thread is laid in a 0-like shape Length ratio of the needle thread to the looper thread with normal fabric thickness approx how i is to i, 6. While now with a normal as it can be seen from Fig. I to 5 is, when pulling towards the end of the looper thread because of the shortness of the 1 needle thread loop b without further ado, an @ #, if the same occurs, this is also the case. if poor regulation of the thread tension results in a seam pattern as shown in fig. h and j. A separation of the --L \ -alit is now possible in the case of double chain stitch- ' seams with long loops (see fig. io and i i) are not possible because the extended loops of the needle thread compared to the looper thread as a result Ouerverlegens require a blockage.
Figs. S and g of the drawing leave behind a normal chain stitch picture at the same time also recognize a seam pattern created in the context of the invention. the end These seam patterns clearly show that the normal stitch pattern is completely different became by the accentuated exaggerated lengthening of the needle thread loop with shortening of the looper thread, the length ratio of the needle thread to the Looper thread is now about 2: i and can go up to d:: i and more each according to the material to be sewn. So it is the length of the outside of the workpiece thickness lying part of the needle thread loop larger than the stitch length.
If you want to cut the new stitch, it turns out that when pulling the looper thread in the direction of arrow x (see Fig. 9), the looper thread loop at c can no longer be pulled off the needle thread loop at d because the loop of the looper thread, like already mentioned, is locked by the loop of the needle thread.
When the needle thread loop is long enough, the thread loop loop can be opened also do not open when you pull the looper thread in the direction y according to Fig. i i the drawing draws.
Double chainstitch seams produced according to the process can be therefore now also apply wherever this was previously due to the easy Separability of the same was not possible. On the other hand, it is quite clear that by the method according to the invention to be produced double chain stitch seams can also be used on all special sewing machine stitches that work directly from the bobbin are, such as B. Multi-needle double chain stitches (cover stitches), decorative stitches and overcasting seams, all of which are in the field of double chain stitch in terms of type and manufacture fall.
