The invention relates to pliers for taking apart separator or centrifugal vessels. It consists in having a free lever in one at one end of a strap attached holder runs in such a way that when contracting the lever arm of the resistor is decreased. This establishes the proportion between the part of the lever on which the force attacks, and the part in which the resistance to the closing is located, increased, so that the contraction of the ligament becomes strongest, just when that Tape is tightened.

The tongs consist of a steel band α, which is bent in a circle in such a way that it can be used to encompass a centrifugal drum. At one end of the band, an end piece b is attached, which carries a pin c or is shaped into a hook. At the other end, an end piece d is also attached, which is rotatably connected to a holder (bracket) e by means of a bolt f. The other end of the bracket is closed by a nail g (or formed into a sharp edge) against which the lever h inserted through the bracket rests. One end of this lever is provided with a recess in which the aforementioned pin or hook c engages. The end of the lever can of course also be shaped in such a way that it engages in a suitable eyelet on the end piece b or on the end of the band. In addition to the shape illustrated in the drawing, the holder can also have that of a hook or ring.

When using the pliers, the steel band is wrapped around the centrifugal drum and the ends of the band are pressed together by pulling on the lever h , so that the drum is held in place and it is easy to dismantle it.
