Description
The invention relates to a broadband radiator, which is characterized is that the radiator itself as a flat symmetrical or approximately symmetrical Body is formed in which the radiator dimensions in the perpendicular to the radiator axis lying level are chosen so that the smaller dimension is less than a third of the larger dimension.
He can z. B. can be used in a free-standing antenna system and there form a so-called directional antenna wall with several similarly designed radiators. Is this designed as a sheet metal radiator S by means of struts St on a carrier. construction z. B. a tower attached, it has for the wind directions i and 2 compared to a similarly attached, z. B. tubular radiators with the same electrical properties in terms of broadband and frequency range a smaller wind resistance; its weight is also less than that of such a tubular radiator with the same electrical properties. Accordingly, the radiator according to the invention, especially when used in a free-standing antenna system, offers the possibility of dimensioning the support structure for its holder and for that of the entire antenna system on the basis of smaller mechanical forces than a structure of the antenna system from corresponding tubular radiators. It is useful, designed as a sheet metal radiator by stiffening ribs R, z. B. as shown in Fig. 2, to make more rigid. The stiffener can be covered in any way. 3 shows an example of this, in which the surfaces a and b lying in the course of the wind directions i and 2 gradually rise towards the edges of the stiffening ribs, which are not visible here, in order to reduce the wind resistance.
You can also use several such, z. B. trained as a sheet metal radiator arrange one above the other, as can be seen in FIG. The distance e of these radiators from each other is small compared to the emitter length 1. The emitters can be connected to one another be radiation-coupled or fed in phase; in Fig. 4 they are radiation-coupled.
