Description
Verfahren zur Vulkanisierung von alkyliertem und aralkyliertem Lignin Es ist bekannt, daß der Vulkanisationseffekt beim Kautschuk durch eine Molekülverkettung infolge Schwefelanlagerung erfolgt, während andererseits bekannt ist, claß Ligninverbindungen mit Schwefel reaktionsfähig sind. Es wurde nun gefunden, daß sich alkyliertes und aralkvliertes Lignin oder ligninhaltige Stoffe nach den bekannten Vulkanisationsverfahren in unlösliche kautschukartige Massen überführen lassen. Es ist hierbei gleichgültig, aus welcher Quelle das Lignin stammt bzw. in welcher Form es vorliegt. So lassen sich z. B. Holz und Huminsäuren nach diesen Verfahren vulkanisieren. Das normale aralkylierte Lignin ist ebenso wie aralkylierte Cellulose in fast allen Benzolkohlenwasserstoffen löslich, während das vulkanisierte Lignin in allen Benzolkohlenwasserstoffen unlöslich ist. Da Anteile des Ausgangsproduktes nicht an der Vulkanisation teilnehmen, beeinträchtigen diese die Zugfestigkeit des Endprodukts. Aus diesem Grunde besteht gegenüber dem Kunstkautschuk eine Unterlegenheit, so daß sich das Material nur für Zwecke verwenden läßt, bei denen nicht die höchsten Ansprüche an die Zugfestigkeit gestellt werden, wie z.
