Device for automatically keeping the voltage of a consumer constant
It is known that the voltage in the power supply networks is often
especially in the hot summer months, subject to considerable fluctuations
is. These voltage fluctuations, especially the voltage drops, have an effect
Especially with unprotected single-phase motors, the fact that the winding
damaged as a result of excessive power consumption and the associated excessive heating
and eventually burns out if the voltage drops for a longer period of time. Further
it also frequently occurs that the motor does not even start and is at a standstill
draws a current that is four to five times the normal rated current.
This also results in greater warming, which is 16 to 25 times as great as in the
normal operation. No motor can be designed for this continuous heating without
to increase its dimensions and weight inadmissibly. Destruction of the winding
is then also inevitable.
If the voltage drops, you automatically have the voltage of one
Additional transformer to the mains voltage via a voltage-sensitive relay
switched on. Such a voltage-sensitive relay is not only proportionate
expensive, it also has the further disadvantage that it is not robust enough
is in its mechanical structure. There is also the difference between the electrical ones
If the flow between the relay pulling in and out is small, it already speaks
to small voltage fluctuations, so that the relay oscillates as a result
cannot be avoided.
These disadvantages can be addressed in a facility
to automatically keep the voltage of a consumer constant, in particular
an electric motor, thereby avoiding the fact that the switching on of a
Additional transformer in the event of a voltage drop, which is in series with the consumer
switched secondary winding - supplies an additional voltage, according to the invention
takes place via a glow lamp-controlled relay. Switches in the event of normal or overvoltage
the relay the primary winding 'to avoid the no-load voltage of the transformer
while the secondary winding is short-circuited, so that a voltage-reducing
Throttling effect is avoided.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. An electric motor 2 is connected as a consumer to the network UV. A glow lamp 3, which is connected in series with a single-pole relay with working and break contacts, is connected in parallel with the consumer. The relay 4 controls a contact 5, which either by connecting the terminals 6 and 7 puts the primary winding 8 of an additional transformer parallel to the consumer or by connecting the terminals 6 and 9 short-circuits the secondary winding io of the transformer connected in series with the consumer.
i : 6o, also ein außerordentlich hoher Wert gegenüber einem normalen spannungsempfindlichen
Relais, dessen D.urchflutung bei 220 V Netzspannung und 20 V Spannungsschwankungen
etwa i : i,1 beträgt.
The glow lamp is designed so that its bias current before ignition is a maximum of 0.5 mA. When the glow lamp is ignited, the current should jump to at least 30 mA. The electrical flow ratio is at least i: 6o, i.e. an extremely high value compared to a normal voltage-sensitive relay, whose D. flow rate at 220 V mains voltage and 20 V voltage fluctuations is about i: i, 1. With increasing voltage, e.g. B. above 195 V, the glow lamp 3 ignites, the relay 4 picks up, and the switching contact puts the tongue on the relay to the right in the position shown in dashed lines. The current flow is then as follows: From phase V via bridge 6 to 9 to Verbi also terminal V ', from here via the connected motor. back to U 'and from there directly into the network. Both the primary winding 8 of the additional transformer is switched off and the secondary winding is short-circuited. On the one hand, this avoids the no-load current of the transformer, and on the other hand, the secondary side of the transformer cannot act as a voltage-reducing choke.
If the voltage in the network has dropped below the burning voltage of the glow lamp 3, this goes out and the relay 4 drops out. Switching contact 5 moves to the left and now connects terminals 6 and 7 with one another. The primary winding 8 of the transformer is thus connected to voltage and induces an additional voltage U in the secondary winding which, if the polarity is correct, adds up to the mains voltage U; v. In this case, the current flow is as follows: From phase V via the secondary winding io of the transformer to consumer terminal V ', via the consumer and terminal U' back into the network. The voltage UN -; - L, 'now prevails between the consumer terminals U' and V '. This gives the motor a voltage that is U higher, which is sufficient to start it up.
The device according to the invention enables a cheap and,
due to the large current difference when the glow lamp is off and on,
also to use a mechanically very robust relay, with a flutter of the relay
is definitely prevented.
