Highly foaming soap Made from fatty acids from paraffin oxidation
high foaming soap, e.g. B. Shaving soap, developed only large-bubble, not very
resistant foam. In addition, the soap often has an unpleasant smell attached, like this
that it is not very suitable as a shaving soap.
in flüssiger Phase ausführen.
geringe Mengen Wasser mitzuverwenden. It has now been found that soap which foams very well and is largely free of the unpleasant odor is obtained if the solid fatty acids are treated with solvents or recrystallized from them. The acid mixtures obtained in the distillation of the paraffin fatty acid as so-called tail fatty acids have proven to be particularly suitable for the production of high-foaming soaps. During the distillation, these mixtures are obtained in variable composition and with fluctuating parameters, but, as has been observed, they were largely standardized by the treatment mentioned. Low molecular weight alcohols, esters, ketones and acids may be mentioned as solvents, e.g. B. methanol, ethanol, propanols, butanols, methyl formate and the like, also acetone, butanone, acetic acid, formic acid etc. The effect of the solvents can be influenced by adding small amounts of water or by using aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons . You can z. B. suspend the fatty acids in the solvent at normal or elevated temperature and then separate them again from the solvent or first, expediently dissolve them completely with heating and then bring them to crystallization by cooling or finally carry out the treatment with the solvent in the liquid phase. It is advisable to use small amounts of water in the above-mentioned manner.
Beispiel i Eine in der
The treated acid mixtures can be applied to shaving soaps e.g. B. can be processed by piling the herge, made potash soaps. If necessary, they can also be mixed with natural fatty acids. EXAMPLE 1 A solution of 10 parts of tail fatty acid (acid number 184, boiling range 25o to 27o 'at 5 mm pressure) in 3o parts of methyl ethyl ketone prepared in the heat is allowed to cool slowly to 5' with stirring. Here, the fatty acid is deposited in fine crystal scales. It is separated from the solvent and the solvent adhering to it is distilled off. The methyl ethyl ketone is also removed from the filtrate by distillation. This gives 8 parts of solid fatty acid with an acid number of 172 and a saponification number of 178 and 2 parts of residue.
abfiltriert. Nach Aufarbeitung wie in Beispiel i erhält man 6 Teile feste
Fettsäure mit der Säurezahl 207
und der Verseifungszahl 215.3, parts of the o f most fatty acid are mixed with 0.3 parts palm kernel fatty acid, and o and, i8 parts hydrolyzed with a mixture of 1.2 parts 5o0 / Eiger potassium hydroxide solution 35% sodium hydroxide solution with the addition of o, i5 parts of glycerin, soap is dried to a fat content of 78 % and then mixed with 0.05 parts of a white pigment and 0.07 parts of fragrance. By piling and shaping, a pleasant smelling, strong foaming soap is obtained, which, thanks to the high resistance of the foam, can be used excellently as a shaving soap. Example 2 10 parts of soap fatty acid obtained by oxidation of paraffin (acid number 248, boiling range 150 to 25 ° at 5 mm pressure) are dissolved in 25 parts of methyl formate; the solution is cooled to -5 ' and the precipitated fatty acid is filtered off. After working up as in Example i, 6 parts of solid fatty acid with an acid number of 207 and a saponification number of 215 are obtained.
Schaum. 3 parts of the acid mixture obtained are saponified with 1.3 parts of 50% strength potassium hydroxide solution with the addition of 0.15 parts of glycerol and dried on a 78% strength base soap. The dry soap obtained is mixed with 0.05 part of a white pigment and 0.07 part of fragrance, piled, pressed into bars and cut. The shaving soap obtained provides a pleasant, dense foam.
