Eine Haube aus elastisch dehnbarem Stoff weist an ihrer Außenseite eine Anzahl Spann- und Zugmittel, vorzugsweise in ihrer Länge verstellbare, unter Zugspannung bringbare Bänder auf, um eine gezielte, von der Haube ausgehende, nach innen gerichtete Druckspannung zu erzeugen. Dank dieser Druckspannung kann ein Kühlmittel, etwa ein Kühlbeutel oder eine, in eine Kunststoffolie eingeschweißte plastische Masse oder Flüssigkeit im gesamten Bereich des Haaransatzes gleichmäßig an die Kopfhaut und/oder deren Haarbesatz angedrückt werden. Eine Kühlpackung, umfassend diese Haube und das Kühlmittel, dient zur Kühltherapie des menschlichen Kopfes, um beispielsweise bei der Verabreichung bestimmter cytostatica die Temperatur der Kopfhaut unter einem vorgegebenen Wert zu halten, um dadurch den Haarausfall zu mindern oder völlig auszuschließen.
