Vorliegende Erfindung Betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Bürsten und Pinseln jeder Art aus Haaren, Borsten oder vegetabilischen Fasern. Die bisher allgemein übliche Methode, Bürsten oder Pinsel zu binden, besteht darin, dafs Schlingen von starken Fäden oder Draht von hinten durch die Löcher des Rückens geschoben und in die Oeffnung der Schlinge die Mitte des Haar- oder Borstenbüschels gebracht wird. Alsdann schliefst man die Schlinge und zieht das Büschel in die Oeffnung des Rückens hinein. Es sind Versuche gemacht worden, auch kurze Haare oder Borsten verarbeiten zu können. Man hat entweder den Bürstenrücken concav gemacht, oder es sind auch die Löcher zur Aufnahme der einzelnen Bündel in Nuthen gelegt. Bei dieser Methode, werden die. auf der Kehrseite des Rückens hervorstehenden Büschelköpfe mittelst Eisen geglättet und die concave Aussparung oder die Nuthen werden mit Cement, Vulcaniten oder Pyroxylin ausgefüllt. Befinden sich derartige Bürsten einige Zeit im Gebrauch, dann zeigen sie dieselben Uebelstände, wie die nach der alten, bekannten Methode hergestellten. Eine andere, besonders bei Besen angewendete Befestigungsart der Borstenbüschel besteht darin, dafs die Löcher im Besenrücken nicht durchgebohrt werden und dafs die einzelnen Büschel, mit dem Kopf in Cement getaucht und gebunden, in diese Löcher gedrückt werden. Derartige Besen werden aber fehlerhaft, lange bevor die Borsten abgenutzt sind. Die Ursachen hierzu können verschieden sein. Einmal geben die cylindrischen Wände der Löcher dem Büschel nicht genug Halt. Die Borsten und das Klebmaterial haften nicht genügend an dem Holz. Weiterhin kann sich das Klebmittel durch den Einflufs der Atmosphäre zersetzen oder es werden Bestandteile desselben von dem Holz absorbirt.
