The invention relates to a rig for a surfboard with a mast that is freely rotatable and pivotable on all sides Surfboard is attached and its sail is attached to the mast with the luff.

The invention is based on the object of creating a rig which allows an equal or larger sail area with a mast length that is reduced compared to the state of the art *

This object is achieved with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

The provision of a headsail in the rig according to the invention has inter alia the advantage that such a rig can be handled more easily than the known rigs with a boom. The surfer can stand relatively close to the boom and thus to the sail, as it is not laterally offset by the distance of the boom next to the sail must grab. In the case of the solution according to the invention, the surfer attacks directly on the sub-tree that lies at the bottom in the surface of the sail.
