Bekanntlich werden die Firste der Reth- und Strohdächer mit Grassoden oder Heidekraut, in Nordfriesland durchweg mit Grassoden abgedeckt. Es leuchtet ein, daß eine derartige Abdeckung niemals wasserdicht, Wetter- und sturmfest herzustellen ist, und jeder Sturm, der über eine Landschaft mit Reth- und Strohdächern fegt, wirft nicht nur die aufgelegten Grassoden herunter, sondern reißt auch noch, durch die entstandenen Lücken unterfassend, die Reth- bzw. Strohabdeckung auf. Die Wiederherstellungskosten der vom Sturm zerzausten Dächer sind oft sehr beträchtlich, so daß das Risiko, welches der Landmann mit der Weicheindeckung übernehmen muß, nicht mehr tragbar ist. Dies ist der Grund, daß die idealen, sich traulich in die Landschaft einfügenden Reth- und Strohdächer immer mehr -verschwinden.-Die vorliegende Erfindung hat sich nun die Aufgabe gestellt, für Weichdächer eine Firstabdichtung zu schaffen, welche sich leicht aufbringen und verlegen läßt, einwandfrei dicht hält, sehr gut aussieht und vom stärksten Sturm nicht mehr beschädigt werden kann.It is well known that the roofs of the Reth and thatched roofs are covered with grass sods or heather, covered with turf throughout North Friesland.
