Cooling of exhaust gas turbines Cooling of exhaust gas turbines is known,
in which the cooling air along the outside of the turbine wheel from inside to
is guided outside in the form of an air curtain. However, such cooling is sufficient
for high thermal loads, such as: especially in exhaust gas turbines for gasoline injection

To achieve cooling that the: cooling air through the hollow interior of the turbine wheel
is performed, the interior being designed as a fan and at the same time
promoted cooling air flow for charging the internal combustion engine - to serve. However
this internal cooling of the turbine wheel was also unsatisfactory.

There are gas turbines known whose Liufer by an inner
Cooling flow cooled "-earth, the coolant also on the same side on the outside
of the runner can get. The achievable cooling effect is, however, considerably less
as the cooling effect of a cooling designed according to the invention. because the coolant
in the known arrangement -first flows through the inner channels of the wheel before
it can reach the outer side of the rada from the circumference of the rada. The coolant
is therefore on the one hand already preheated when it is the outer surfaces of the cooling wheel
coated, and on the other hand, from an actual cooling current on the Aullenscit,
of the wheel of the - «-: genes cannot be spoken, because the coolant is only
can accumulate from the outside in chambers on both sides of the wheel. a strong flow
of these chambers is consequently not guaranteed.
Cooling systems for gas turbines are also known, at «-elchen
the coolant flows radially from the inside on both sides of the turbine wheel, the
Turbine wheel 1; ° iders ° its flushed and flows off at the circumference of the wheel, whereby the
Cooling flows close to the circumference of the wheel d - branch out in such a way that some of the cooling flows
flows around the outer flange of the turbine wheel carrying the blades,
while the remaining part of the cooling flows through Bobrungen this flange as well
is passed through the 'hollow turbine blades. This also offers cooling
does not take advantage of the invention. since the cooling flows are only immediately before the
Blades branch after they are ready: in the course of their radial flow at
Have absorbed heat along the turbine wheel. Internal cooling of the wheel itself
is not provided for here. There is also no possibility of the cooling flows
For internal and external cooling, different coolant no # - 11Qn can be found.
In contrast. the invention enables these known cooling systems
an even further improved fluid circulation on turbine wheels as a result. that on the one hand
the turbine wheel not only on its outside. but also over its entire radial
Extension from the inside g, -cooled and that on the other hand or both cooling flows independently
of one another in a parallel arrangement through or on top of the turbine wheel
The outer surface can be guided along, without first removing heat from the turbine wheel
added zti, with the greatest cooling effect both through the inner channels as
also flow along the outer surface of the wheel.

B. in
eine Kammer f austretende Kühlluft ausgebildet. Gegebenenfalls kann die nach f gefördert:
Kühlluft für weitere Zwecke, z. B. zum Aufladen der Brennkraftmaschine oder für
Heizzwecke, verwendet werden. In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in section. The turbine wheel b is arranged in a cantilevered manner on the shaft a. The exhaust gases used to drive the turbine are fed in at g and, after passing through the blades, flow at 1 z. B. into the open. The turbine wheel is hollow so that the cooling air entering at e can flow through the cavity from the inside to the outside. In the cavity, air circulation systems can be provided so that the turbine wheel also serves as a fan for the cooling air. The arranged on the circumference of the wheel blades lr of the turbine are also hollow and as passage channels c for the from the cavity d to the outside z. If necessary, the promoted according to f: Cooling air for other purposes, e.g. B. can be used to charge the internal combustion engine or for heating purposes.

Turbinenrades in dessen Innenhohlraum d eintritt. Beide Kühlluftströme kömiten auch
dem Abgasstrom zugeführt «-erden.A further cooling of the turbine is provided that a cooling air flow
by z. B. under the dynamic pressure of the airborne or driving wind standing channels rt in the
Near the shaft a is directed from the outside against the turbine wheel, from where it takes shape
an air curtain through the gaps; r and o on either side of the wheel between
this and the housing is deflected according to your scope. The cooling air can flow from here
into the exhaust gas stream,; - i, as shown in the lower half of the figure. in
the chamber f, as shown in the upper half of the figure, or immediately
be discharged to the outside. The cooling air could, however, also partly according to i and
can be partially derived to f or to the outside. The supply of both cooling air streams
can also take place under the same or different pressure. Furthermore, the internal cooling flow
even. the channel r. removed "-earth by drilling through holes in the wall of the
Turbine wheel enters its inner cavity d. Both streams of cooling air also come
fed to the exhaust gas stream.
