WILLIAM MERRICK in CLIFTON (England).
Neuerungen an Bruchbandagen.WILLIAM MERRICK in CLIFTON (England).
Innovations to hernia bandages.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 9. Mai 1879 ab.Patented in the German Empire on May 9, 1879.
The purpose of this invention is to produce such a bandage assembly that the pain caused by a fracture is relieved and healing is achieved.
The bandage arrangement produced according to my invention consists of a pillow carrier A, belt B, lower belt CC, shoulder belt DD, cross pieces EE and elastic eyelets FF, which are arranged as FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show.
The carrier A is provided with pockets on the inner side to accommodate air cushions or the like. These pillows press and hold firmly against the diseased part of the body without causing pain or injuring the patient's skin.
The carrier A is held in its correct position without having to fear that it will be displaced by the alternating body postures when walking, riding, etc. The lower straps CC, which are connected to the belt at the front and back, are used for this. The belt B is firmly connected to the shoulder strap DD at the rear, at the front ends of which there are elastic connecting pieces F , which are connected to the belt at the bottom. These elastic end pieces stretch when standing upright, walking, etc. and contract when sitting without affecting the position of the wearer A.
