Description
Method of increasing the adhesive strength of natural or artificial Rubber on natural or artificial textile fibers is the subject of the invention forms a process for increasing the adhesive strength of natural or artificial Rubber, rubber-like substances or their mixtures of natural or artificial Textile fibers such as threads, fabrics or cord.
To achieve a connection between cotton threads and natural rubber mixtures, z. B. for the substructure of car tires, is usually not a special way of working necessary. The individual cotton fibers are crimped in such a way that the Cotton thread applied rubber mixture during vulcanization between the individual cotton fibers penetrate and thus anchor the thread in the rubber mixture evokes. You can still do this by impregnating the threads with a rubber solution easier to surround each fiber with rubber. However, this procedure fails both processing of artificial silk. So far, one has - by treating the rayon with natural, possibly concentrated rubber milk, which is called casein or Hemoglobin and possibly dispersions of regenerated material added, adhesive strength values he-. that is enough compared to the artificial silk that has not been pretreated is much higher, but not yet satisfied for high loads. These rubber milk mixtures also have the disadvantage that they are superficial Causing cementing of the threads, whereby the tissues become very stiff and thereby processing, e.g. B. from. so-called cord, make it more difficult on a calender. aside from that Casein-containing rubber milk mixtures have little shelf life.
In general, natural rubber milk has been used to treat Fibers therefore not proven because the rubber particles are too large to move between the fibers can penetrate, rather the rubber particles only settle on the surface of the cord.
Artificial rubber dispersions are suitable due to their low Particle size better for impregnation. From this one should have concluded that with the better impregnation that can be achieved with these di; s, persions, too at the same time better adhesion between the textile thread and the rubber mixture, in which the thread is embedded, could be achieved. Experiments in this regard showed it is true that the impregnation with dispersions of artificial rubber is essential is better, d. H. the impregnation penetrates the thread much deeper, but the achievable bond strengths are as shown in the table below is not higher, as might be expected, but lower.
Butadien-Polymerisate, Butadien-Styrol-Mischpolymerisate, Naturkautschuk. With the different types of rubber that for the Adhesives and. must be used for the rubber mixtures to be applied of course, make a selection based on their known behavior towards one another be taken so between the adhesive with which the textiles are pretreated and the rubber mixture to be applied achieves a permanent bond can be. The connection between these two, layers is made by the addition of hemoglobin in no way influenced, but rather only the good adhesion reached the impregnation layer on the textiles. Man. so # will only be those types of rubber, or mixtures of several polymers which experience has shown to combine with one another be liable. It is possible without difficulty to find the substances of a group in the following Exchange tables so that there are always permanent connections between rubber compounds on textiles according to the present invention can be achieved: i. Butadiene acrylic acid nitride copolymers, 2. polymers of 2-chlorobutadiene, 3. butadiene polymers, butadiene-styrene copolymers, Natural rubber.
The present method is not only more practical for rayon Meaning, but also for other textile fibers including cotton, being It should also be mentioned that the textiles pretreated in this way have higher strengths and a may have greater heat resistance.
