Ionisationsmanometer Ionisationsmanometer dienen zur Messung niedriger
Gasdrucke.
Ionization manometers Ionization manometers are used to measure low gas pressures. The known ionization inanometers are effective in such a way that the ionizing effect of an electron stronics emanating from a cathode in the gas atmosphere to be measured is measured. Obviously, the greater the ionization, the greater the ionization current the gas pressure is because at higher gas pressure and the truth @ rheinlichkeit crash of a 1 lcktrons finite a gas molecule grows 1? s. However, we have shown that the known Ionisationsmanometcr work unreliable when it comes to the measurement of gas pressures, which are less than about 10 -5 Torr. This disadvantage is avoided by the present invention. According to the invention, the electron beam emanating from the cathode, which penetrates the atmosphere to be measured, is directed in a focused manner into the opening of a hollow anode. The invention is based on Recognition that the deficiency of the known Ionisationsmanoineter is due to the fact that the The electrons exiting the cathode of the ionization manometer not only have an ionizing effect in the gas atmosphere, but also release ions from the surface of the anode of the ionization manometer, which mostly contains adsorbed gas layers. A stronger ionization is thereby achieved and thus a higher gas pressure is simulated. In the ionization manometer according to the invention, however, the electron impact creates ions only at those points on the anode at which there is no or only a weak field which strives to transport the ions into the measuring space. The ions therefore do not get into the measuring space or only in a very small, practically insignificant amount, so that the measurement result is not influenced by the undesired type of ion formation mentioned, as is the case with the known ionization manometers.
In den Figuren sind Ausführungsbeispiele von Elektrodenanordnungen
erfindungsgemäßer Ionisationsmanometer dargestellt. Die in Fig. i dargestellte Anordnung

The arrangement shown in Fig. I shows a hot cathode i, in front of which a metal screen 2 is arranged, which is held at the potential of the anode. The electrons pass through the opening of this diaphragm in the form of a beam and finally hit the hollow anode 3. The focusing of the electron beam can be improved by using a magnetic striction coil. In front of the anode 3 there is an auxiliary electrode. arranged, the potential of which is about 10 volts higher than the potential of the anode. This prevents the positive ions present in the hollow anode 3 from getting into the measuring space 5. The auxiliary electrode 4 is also equipped with an opening through which the electron beam can pass unhindered. On its way between the diaphragm a and the auxiliary electrode .1 the electron beam has an ionizing effect on the gas atmosphere contained in the measuring room 5. The resulting positive gas ions are sucked off by the cylinder-shaped collector electrode 6, which has a negative potential compared to the cathode. The gas pressure can then be determined by measuring the ionization current. In the embodiment shown in Fig. I, the cathode i is still from an upwardly open cup-shaped part? enclosed, which is opposite the cathode at negative potential. In this way it is to be achieved that positive ions emerging from the Katliodenoherfläche are sucked off immediately, so that they do not pass through the opening of the diaphragm 2 and reach the Auffängerclektrode6 and thereby falsify the measurement of the ionization current. wird ein quer zur Bahn der Elektronen gerichtetes elektrisches Feld erzeugt, durch
