Der Erfindung lag die Aufgabe zugrunde, Badewannenabdeckungen der eingangs erwähnten Art so zu verbessern, daß sie nicht nur ein ästhetischeres Aussehen erhalten, sondern ein angenehmeres Liegen gestatten. Erfindungsgemäß wird zu diesem Zweck die Matte als Schaumstoffmatte ausgebildet, an deren Unterseite die Latten befestigt sind, und außerdem wird die Schaumstoffmatte mit einem Stoffüberzug, insbesondere aus einem Frottee-stoff, versehen. Bei der Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Badewannenabdeckung kann auf zeitraubende und komplizierte Schweißarbeiten, wie sie beim Zusammenschweißen der PVC-Folien und bei der Anfertigung der Fächer zum Einlegen der Latten zur Herstellung der bekannten Badewannenabdeckung erforderlich sind, verzichtet werden, denn bei der erfindungsgemäßen Badewannenabdeckung lassen sich die Latten beispw. durch Kleben, durch Einschießen von Klammern od.dgl. in einfacher Weise an der Schaumstoffmatte befestigen. Die erfindungsgemäße Konstruktion wird aber auch beim Daraufliegen als wesentlich angenehmer empfunden, da man nicht auf einer Kunststoffolie liegt und da ferner die über den Latten befindlichen Bereiche durch die durchgehende Schaumstoffmatte abgepolstert sind - bei der bekannten Badewannenabdeckung liegt man entweder unmittelbar auf den Latten oder befinden sich zwischen diesen und dem Körper nur die beiden PVC-Folien, so daß praktisch keine Polsterwirkung in diesen Bereichen zustande kommt. Schließlich führt der Stoffüberzug zu einem ansprechenden Aussehen und zu einer völligen Freizügigkeit in der Farbgestaltung.
