Bei rollfähigem Gut besteht die Gefahr, .daß sich dasselbe infolge unvermeidlicher Erschütterungen, die durch den mechanischen Antrieb, des Ofens oder auch von außen her erzeugt sein können, während des Durchganges durch den Ofen auf dem Rost verlagert. Das Gut wird alsdann allmählich nach der einen oder anderen Seite wandern, und es kann leicht vorkommen, daß solches Gut, insbesondere in der Praxis sehr häufig vorkommende zylindrische Blöcke, an den Seiten des Ofens bzw. des Rostes anstoßen und durch Verklemmungen o. d'gl. Störungen im Ofen verursachen. Es ist daher bereits vorgeschlagen worden, an den Seitenwänden des Rostes Begrenzungswände anzubringen, die wenigstens teilweise die Bewegung des Gutes im Ofen mitmachen.
