Arrangement for checking the position of the cathode ray in Braun's,
Tubes The present invention relates to Braun tubes in which
a diagram in polar coordinates is drawn by a moving cathode ray on a fluorescent screen
will. Such tubes are mostly with a pair in the form of frustoconical sheets
formed deflection electrodes, which are arranged concentrically and in the space between them
the cathode current circles, provided.
zentrisch liegt. Die Verlagerung des Strahles bzw. Leuchtpunktes an sich macht keine
besonderen Schwierigkeiten.
In all measurements that are carried out with such tubes, an error occurs in the direction of the deflection if the circular path of the cathode ray is not exactly concentric to the deflection system. In order to avoid this error, which manifests itself in a not exactly radial deflection of the cathode ray, it is necessary that the cathode ray in the rest state, before it begins its circular movement, lies exactly in the center axis of the radial deflection system, i.e. completely centric. The shifting of the beam or luminous point itself does not cause any particular difficulties. It is j edoch difficult to detect in the known electrode systems, whether the central location of the cathode ray is actually present.
Urn. In a Braun tube whose beam deflection system consists of two coaxial, frustoconical electrodes, according to the invention, the inner of the two deflection electrodes is provided with at least one diaphragm which has a central opening and is arranged transversely to the cathode beam to be able to check this in many ways. With the help of such an arrangement, it is easily possible to see whether the position of the cathode ray is set precisely in the center, since before the deflection electrodes are actuated, a light point is only created when the cathode ray passes through the central opening and is directed to the 1 - the fluorescent screen can hit.
There are already known cathode ray tube loading, in which the deflector plates arranged in front of the main anode is annular. With these tubes, too, if the electron beam deviates significantly from the central position, the electron beam is masked by the anode, so that the formation of a light point on the screen of the cathode ray tube is prevented. In these known arrangements, however, the opening in the main anode is still relatively large, so that only relatively large deviations of the electron beam from its central position could be seen. In addition, these known arrangements are not cathode ray tubes with a radial deflection system consisting of concentric, frustoconical electrodes.
The cathode ray tube according to the invention can still be improved thereby
that on the inner Abilenkelectrode not one, but two diaphragms with
central opening are arranged, which expediently the two ends of the deflecting electrode
to lock. In this case the luminous point of the cathode ray only becomes
visible when it passes through both openings. It can be done this way
also, error, dig on an inclination of the electron beam to the axis of the electron system
can be safely and reliably proven. To get a roughly necessary
To facilitate the adjustment of the beam, it is advantageous to have longitudinal slots
to provide in the end plates, which from the central hole-shaped opening
run radially outwards. One can then first point the beam on one of these
Adjust the slot and move it until it is actually in the center.
You can also use metal strips that have a central opening to create a kind of crosshair
which makes adjustment even easier.
I illustrates the embodiment of the invention with two diaphragms provided at the ends of the inner deflection electrode. The electrode 2 is closed at the top and bottom by a plate, which openings have, gene 3 and 4 has, through which passes the cathode ray when he occupies the desired central location.
