Auf den kastenartigen Aufsatz D ist der Füllcylinder A aufgeschraubt, welcher den Kolben B in sich aufnimmt. Die Kolbenstange a st in ihrem oberen Theile d als Zahnstange ausiebildet, welche mit dem durch die Kurbel e gethätigten Trieb c in Eingriff steht, und bewegt sich in den augenförmigen Führungen des um den Zapfen k drehbaren Auslegers b. Die untere Oeffnung des Cylinders A kann zeitweilig durch den auf den Führungen m gleitenden Schieber C geschlossen werden, welcher durch die Lenkstange i, den Hebel k und die in der Säule h gelagerte Spindel g mit dem Stellhebel f in Verbindung steht und durch letzteren bethätigt wird. Ein Entweichen bezw. ein Verlust von Gas kann hierbei nicht eintreten, da der Kolben B so weit in den Cylinder hineingeschoben wird, dafs zwischen Kolben und Schieber gar keiner oder doch nur ein minimaler Zwischenraum entsteht; der Keil η in der Kolbenstange bildet hierbei die Begrenzung des Kolbenhubes. Alsdann windet man den Kolben B mittelst der Kurbel e wieder hoch, und zwar so weit, bis der Kolben gänzlich aus dem Cylinder herausragt; das Ventil / ermöglicht hierbei den Luftzutritt unter den Kolben bezw. Aufgang desselben. Nachdem man hierauf den Ausleger b sammt dem Kolben zur Seite geschwenkt hat, wird die Füllung des nunmehr zugänglichen Cylinders vorgenommen. Schliefslich wird der Cylinder mit dem Kolben wieder überdeckt, der Schieber C von der unteren Cylinderöffnung vollständig fortgezogen und der Kolben B nachgeschoben.
