Mortise lock The invention relates to a mortise lock,
which is to be used in particular for windows and doors and which of
the front of the window or door frame is embedded. There on both sides
this frame at the level of the keyhole Schloßächilder are attached, so
in most cases it was necessary to drill through the housing of the lock,
so that the fastening screws of the lock shields could be screwed in.
But this was not always possible, otherwise parts of the castle lake that are in the
Housing, could easily injure.
There are mortise locks bent from a sheet metal plate
Housing known, in which the shape of the housing is strict in order to save space
is adapted to the set up so that the housing has stepped shoulders and
the fastening screws for the lock plate run outside the housing.
In the case of these known housings for mortise locks, however, so far no consideration has been given
taken on the attachment of the housing to the forend of the lock. The case
was always excessively large and therefore one had to use larger lock plates,
to let the fastening screws of the same run outside of the housing,
but which means a substantial waste of material.
The invention eliminates the above disadvantages in that
the sheet metal plate from which the housing is bent, with opposing recesses
is provided, the delimitation tabs after your bending of the sheet metal plate
the housing tab-shaped projections for fastening the housing to the faceplate
of the castle.

The subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary manner in the drawing
Embodiment shown on a simple bolt lock,
However
can the described design of the lock housing for any mortise lock
be used. They show: Fig. I a diagrammatic view of the mortise lock,
Fig.2 shows a cross section through the same along the line c-d. of Fig. i and Fig. 3
the punched sheet metal from which the housing is bent.
Gehäuse 2, welches vermittels der Vorsprünge i i an dem Stulp i vernietet wird.
In the case of the bolt lock according to the drawing, i means the faceplate of the
Lock, 2 the housing, 3 the bolt, i the hole for the handle, 5 the bolt collar,

from which the housing 3 is bent and 8 or 8 'the bearing opening for the bolt
According to the invention, the sheet metal plate; punched out so that on the opposite
Edges of the same corresponding recesses 9 arise. By turning this
sheet metal plate 7 punched out in this way along the dashed edges i o creates the U-shaped
Housing 2, which is riveted to the faceplate i by means of the projections i i.
Through this design of the housing block; arise at the locations of the recesses
in the lock housing itself, on both sides of the same above and below step-shaped

can be used. The screws used for these lock shields
are therefore screwed directly into the wood that extends outside of this

short lock plates, which can be used here, becomes an essential one
Material savings achieved, and cla the same in most cases made of brass or
If there are other expensive materials, this saving is at play with such a large one
Bulky articles: an essential role. The attachment of these short lock plates is also important
a very simple one and can happen very quickly, since one never has to fear
that the fastening screws abut the same on the lock housing.
