Description
Arrangement to prevent self-excitation due to acoustic Feedback at a telephone subscriber station In telephone subscriber stations, which is equipped with a loudspeaker and microphone instead of the usual handheld microphone are, the so-called hands-free speakers, are both in the transmission branch (behind the microphone) as well as in the reception branch (in front of the loudspeaker) additional amplifiers are required. Tilt as a result of the acoustic feedback between the loudspeaker and microphone these systems are therefore known to cause self-excitation.
To avoid this self-excitement, it is already with hands-free speakers known, when discussing the microphone part of the energy of the transmitter amplifier to be used to cancel or weaken the effect of the receiving amplifier. However, this measure does not allow for trouble-free operation in all cases to ensure. Namely, if one of the participants speaks, his speech streams arrive via the receiving amplifier to the loudspeaker of the other participant. A part the sound energy hits the microphone via the acoustic feedback path, is amplified in the transmission amplifier, so that the aforementioned!] measure according to the Receiving amplifier switched off and caused an unintentional separation of both participants can be.
It is known to remedy this deficiency during operation the free. Sprecheranlagc always use one of the transmission numbers @ \, eige (send or Receiving branch) by switching means provided between the branches (I # .clio_ wid / odcr feedback locks). In this case]: a self-excitement occur more; (lafür t # rgil) but the \ Achtcil. that as a result the required in such an arrangement to ensure the switching operations Delay elements allow the listening participant to break into the conversation of the. others and thus an informal, mutual conversation of the participants is made very difficult by a relatively long time, the opening of the bis blocked transmission branch is required. In particular, there is a risk that the initial syllables of the spoken words remain incomprehensible, so that a reliable transmission of numbers, names a. like. is impossible.
It is already a hands-free system that makes breaking in easier with two transmission paths not released at the same time, in which the non-linear voltage dependence of combined to damping networks Dry rectifiers are used to reduce the attenuation in the two transmission branches to be controlled depending on the respective meeting. The well-known system has a voice actuated device which is one of the ways for voice transmission releases in it and locks it again when the conversation ends, whereby the lock takes place with a delay bridging the pauses between the words and syllables. The. voice operated device is now such with the input circuit of the other Path connected that of this during a call transfer in the first path branched speech streams the said device for practically instantaneous Initiate blocking @ of the first route. However, the known system has the disadvantage that it requires a disproportionately large amount of switching elements and therefore is very expensive.
The invention, which avoids the aforementioned disadvantages of the known arrangement, relates to an arrangement for preventing self-excitation due to acoustic feedback in a telephone subscriber station, which is equipped with a microphone 31 and a loudspeaker L and with a controllable transmitter and receiver amplifier E and at a control voltage derived from the transmission path increases the gain of the transmission amplifier S, which is partially blocked when the system is in the idle state, and at the same time that of the fully permeable receiving amplifier E is reduced in the idle state.
According to the invention, in addition to the one derived from the transmission path, also occurring with acoustic feedback between loudspeaker L and microphone 31 Control voltage, which deal gain of the transmission amplifier S with increasing Microphone level increases, a further control voltage is derived from the receiving path regulates the gain of the transmission amplifier S in the opposite sense in such a way that. that the gain through the differential control by means of both control voltages remains approximately constant within a wide range of reception levels (Fig. i).
A feedback circuit is known in which the idle state the transmitter amplifier is completely or partially blocked and the receiver amplifier is full is permeable, and in which the attenuation of the transmission path both by one of the transmission path as well as controlled by a control voltage derived from the receiving path. the known circuit, however, acts in such a way that, with increasing reception level, the gain in the receiving branch is left unchanged compared to the rest position and that in the sending branch is reduced to values that break into the conversation of the other participant is impossible or at least very difficult to do. In the known circuit, the listening part of the nelliner has to cope with the break-in wait for the partner to pause in conversation, the duration of which is greater than that for Bridging the usual pauses between words and syllables required time constant of the control mechanism. However, a long time can pass before this Case occurs and there is thus the possibility of a break-in.
In contrast, the arrangement according to the invention is characterized in that the gain of the transmitter amplifier in a wide reception level range approximately is kept constant at the mean value present in the idle state, that a participant by normal strong discussion of his' microphone at any time can break into the conversation of the partner.
In the following, the mode of operation of the arrangement according to the invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to FIG. It is assumed that the arrangement is connected to a two-wire line; the arrangement can also be used with success if a vierdralitinä ßiger connection is provided. In Fig. I, the incoming two-wire line is labeled F. It ends in the usual way in the fork G with the _ \ achbildung 1 '. A branch, the receiver branch, goes from the fork G to the receiver amplifier E and from there to the loudspeaker I. On the other hand, the transmission branch consists of the microphone .11, from which the connection leads to fork G via the Senclever amplifier .S '. The # 'er.tä r-. ker .E and. S are equipped with exponential stirrers, the degree of amplification of which, as is known, can be varied within wide limits by changing the grid prestress. The control voltages for influencing the grid bias of the amplifier are generated by two rectifiers Dl and D =. 1) The rectifier D = is fed by the receiver amplifier and influences the gain of the transmitter amplifier S. The rectifier D1 is fed by the microphone and also influences the transmitter amplifier S on the one hand, but also the receiver amplifier E.
In the idle state, ie when neither spoken nor heard, or in other words, when neither 11 nor I # pulses arrive, the operating point of .E and S is determined by fixed grid biases. The receiving amplifier E - works with the highest degree of gain, ie the grid bias is adjusted so that the tube - works in the area of greatest steepness. The transmission amplifier S, on the other hand, is set to medium - #, - efficiency, for example so that the gain is 2.5% less than it would have to be so that the output at F corresponds to that of a normal handheld microphone.
When sound impulses arrive from F, they reach the loudspeaker L via the fully open amplifier E. A part of the voltages amplified by E is branched off and rectified in D. The resulting control voltage would lead to a further throttling of the transmission amplifier S. Those sound impulses which reach the transmission circuit via the acoustic feedback between I and 31 are fed there to the rectifier D1, to which an amplifier V is expediently connected upstream. The voltages emanating from 11 cause, on the one hand, an increase in the degree of amplification of S and, on the other hand, a decrease in the degree of amplification of E. However, the increase in the degree of amplification of S is not effective because it compensates for by the simultaneous decrease in the degree of amplification from S to D. = will.
When transmitting, sound impulses reach the microphone and hit there on the one hand on the half-open amplifier S, on the other hand on the rectifier Dt, the Amplifier S fully opens and amplifier I? throttles. The more tensions become normal size delivered to the pipeline.
E ebenfalls in \eper aufgetragen. The arrangement is made so that the style of the reinforcements of S and E is constant, regardless of the size of the microphone on <Las appropriate sonic lenses. However, this only applies. \ @ciiti the system as a sender is working. The relationships, which are taken from a practical example, are for example in Ahb. 2 shown. On the abscissa is from the center to to the right is the transmission level at the microphone, to the left is the input level in front of the fork applied in \ eper. The degree of gain of, 5- or E is also shown as the ordinate applied in \ eper. Before the start of the transmission, the 'N' degree of clarification is from S about 1.8 2 "-eper and is increased up to about 5 \ eper. Simultaneously the gain of E decreases from ö \ eper to about 1.8 \ eper. When the arrangement works as a receiver, the receiving amplifier E is initially fully open. Its gain is, for example, N eper. Assume that no If the loudspeaker has an effect on the microphone, it remains with this high degree of reinforcement. To the extent that sound amplitudes hit the microphone, which come from the loudspeaker, becomes the gain of the receiving amplifier throttled down, for example down to 1.5 \ eper. The gain of the The transmission amplifier S changes only a little, at most by about up to \ eper. this is due to the differential influence -of S, once from the rectifier D, and once from the rectifier D_. The introductory remarks apply to a certain acoustic attenuation between loudspeaker and microphone. If this attenuation decreases, the sum of the gain factors of S and E. At lowest acoustic attenuation, d. H. when 11 and L are directly opposite, reached "the sum of the degrees of amplification of S and E has its highest value. The total amplification is then equal to that in the idle state.
A dynamic system with a permanent one is expediently used as the microphone Magnets used; Such a system can also be used as a loudspeaker to use.
It is also useful to use the alternating voltage generated by the amplifier I ' or the direct voltage generated by your rectifier Dl with the help of a gs glow tube to limit. This prevents the operating point of the amplifier tube from S to the positive part of the characteristic. Except = -tleni is done this way achieved, <leave off a certain minimum volume when speaking in certain At a distance from the microphone, the transmission gain is still a little less so that too great an amplitude distortion is avoided.

Such exponential tubes are used in both amplifier branches, their degree of gain with increasing or decreasing negative grid prestress initially experiences only a minor change; only when the preload is changed further the gain falls more sharply, or it rises more sharply. The setting the fixed grid pre-tensioning can then take place in such a way that by the small noise of the room generated control voltages the operating points of the exponential tubes up to the beginning due to the steep gain change. On the one hand, this achieves (Let normal room noises in the idle state only with a small amplitude on the line and, on the other hand, there will be an undesirable reduction in the strength of the transient latite Avoided by Ratimgerä tables.
