Bei der Reposition von Knochenfragmenten sind schon bisher Zangen verwendet worden, bei der durch eine Fraktur getrennten Fragmente auseinander gezogen und reponiert wurden, dabei wurden in die Knochenfragmente offene oder geschlossenenösen oder drehbare Ringe eingeschraubt, in welche je ein Maulteil der Zange eingriff. Nach der Reposition und dem Anlegen entsprechender Fixierungen wurden die ösen oder Ringe entfernt und die Wunde versorgt. Heute verwendet man an Stelle der ösen oder Ringe einfache Knochenschrauben aus implantationsfähigem Material, diese werden in die einzelnen Knochenfaagmente so eingedreht, daß sie mit einer erfindungsgemäßen Zange erfaßt und je nach Position reponiert werden können.
