Description
Electron tube, the wall of which is made up of fused parts made of metal and glass, The invention relates to an electron tube whose Wall consists of a glass part and a metallic part, in particular the formation of the fusion point between one and the other wall part. The structure of the vessel wall, partly made of glass, partly made of metal, is z. D. at electrical transmission tubes are very common, in which the metallic wall part also serves as an anode. The connection between the metallic and the glass Wall part is often difficult to achieve, especially when the metal wall is relatively large, for example for mechanical reasons must become. Thick pieces of metal are difficult to melt vacuum-tight in glass or melt it to the same. If you make the metallic vessel wall thin, then it is enough in many cases the strength of the metallic wall part at the melting point not from. This is especially the case when making the metallic Wall part soft metals, such as. B. copper, are used because of their other properties would be very well suited to the present purpose.
The disadvantages described can be overcome by the present invention avoid. According to the invention, in the case of an electron tube, the wall of which is partly made of metal, partly made of glass, the metallic wall part at least its fusion point with the glass (fusion point on the glass) kept thin and with radial Provide corrugations. With tubes where the metallic wall part is relatively strong, it is recommended that the metal wall to weaken a little at the melting point, because then the melting is better can be carried out and result in firmer and denser melts. The mechanical Strength, in particular the buckling strength of the mechanical wall part increased by the corrugation of the metal wall. The invention therefore makes it easier Way achieved that on the one hand the rigidity and strength of the vessel wall one sufficient size, but that on the other hand extremely effortlessly tight and reliable fusion between the glass and the metal is possible.
The figures show an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention shown. The tube shown in Fig. I has a wall part i Glass and a wall part z made of metal, which fused to one another at point 3 are.
Fig. Z shows section A-B through the metallic wall part in in the immediate vicinity of the melting point. You can see that the metal wall on this Point is wavy. This results in the aforementioned high buckling strength of the metal Tube sleeve, which must also be large enough near the melting point.
To show what kind of corrugation of the metallic wall part should be practical, in the not to scale Fig. 2 the two wave-shaped Section line through the circles enveloping the vessel wall q. and 5 shown. The difference between the radii of these two circles is advantageously approximately the Until ioo. Part of the larger circle diameter.
Is it important for any reason that the metal vessel wall If the part is relatively thick, then only that part is weakened Wall which is fused with the glass or which is adjacent to the melting point Wall parts and provides these parts according to the invention with the described Corrugations. If this runs into practical difficulties, the metallic one can also be used Make wall part from two individual parts, which are connected to one another in a vacuum-tight manner are. The larger part then represents the actual vessel wall and is in of the desired thickness executed smoothly, while the other part is an intermediate piece forms, is relatively thin and provided with corrugations according to the invention.
