High-frequency induction furnace in which the furnace coil is from a single
non-magnetic metal screen is surrounded in high-frequency furnaces is known to show
the undesirable phenomenon that the stray force lines extending outside the coil
the support frame of the furnace, mostly reinforced with iron or made entirely of iron, inductive
heat. As a result of this heating, the framework material suffers, and it also results
very considerable electrical rates. It has therefore been tried many times
shield the lines of stray force from the scaffolding. For example, one has to

.Shielding, but also very high losses were achieved. When using a
other material instead of copper will reduce these losses, e.g. B. with aluminum,
even higher and are there i, 3 times the heat loss found with copper.
Shields have also been built, consisting of several parallel one behind the other
arranged elements consisted of various non-magnetizable metals,
that touched each other closely or were arranged one behind the other with play. Included
the thickness of each individual screen was less than the penetration depth of the electromagnetic
Waves. So the lines of scattering force were destroyed in individual phases. That
it meant material savings; but no reduction in energy losses
the use of thick-walled metal sheets.
Finally, one can also use the well-known properties of ferromagnetic

the
The difficulties and disadvantages mentioned are eliminated according to the invention by
that only a part of the stray force lines is shielded by a primordial magnetic material,
whose thickness is equal to or less than the penetration depth of the electromagnetic waves
collects the remainder through a ferromagnetic, preferably laminated, material.
It has been found that the shielding increases with the strength of the shielding material
has a different functional relationship than the heat absorption of the screen material
with its thickness. While the shielding increases with increasing sheet metal thickness
increases sharply, is the corresponding increase in heat and thus the increase in loss
initially very low; z. B. is with a sheet thickness. that of half the penetration depth
corresponds, the shielding effect is twice as great as the warming. With a sheet thickness
corresponding to a penetration depth, the shielding effect is still six times that
of warming. As the sheet thickness increases, the ratio deteriorates
in favor of warming, and it will occur beyond the simple depth of penetration as

when using copper thicknesses, about three times the penetration depth can be achieved
correspond. In contrast, a copper thickness results in a corresponding penetration rivet
a shielding of over so% with only the tenth part of the losses that one with
the copper thickness recorded three penetration depths.
Zwecke verwendbar. The rest of the stray lines of force are also located in the ferromagnetic
Shielded material, which is preferably formed lamellar. Instead of the slat shape
is also the powder or granule form, embedded in ceramic mass, for this
Purposes.
Copper is the main material used for the primordial magnetic material
or aluminum and preferably iron for the ferromagnetic material.
The most effective, of course, as a primordial magnetic material, would be silver, which contains the lines of force
best reflected. The inventive combination of magnetic and
Primarily magnetic shielding elements succeed in completely shielding the strict force lines
with comparatively low energy losses. With the help of the invention
Measures it is possible to simplify the construction of the scaffolding. For example
you can use massive iron containers in which the entire furnace is built.
