Description
The feet for box-shaped pieces of furniture, cupboards and coffins manufactured so far consist of three wooden parts that are glued and clamped together. The production is complex and time-consuming in mass production, of poor surface quality and often also poor uniformity. When using these feet, especially for coffins, the high unit weight, which affects the total weight of the coffins, is a nuisance. The invention is based on the object of creating a foot for furniture and coffins which, with a smooth surface, simple shape and low weight, can be mass-produced in a simple operation. The object is achieved according to the invention in that the foot is made in one piece from structural foam (TSG and RSG). The foot consists of two angled side walls (1), on the upper edge of which flaps (2) are foamed, which contain several openings (3). With the help of nails, bolts, screws or brackets, which are passed through these openings, the foot can be connected to the piece of furniture or coffin in a labor-saving manner. For this purpose, three openings are preferably made. The structural foam base is easy to manufacture, is very uniform and has a good surface quality. It can be colored, stained or varnished. In addition, it is lighter in weight than the wooden feet that have been used since then.
