Process for the rearrangement of 0-acetylacetoacetic ester into C-acetylacetoacetic ester
By the action of acetic acid chloride or anhydride on sodium acetoacetic ester
As is known, a mixture of O- and C-acetylacetoacetic esters is formed. It became a
simple procedure; found, which allows with very favorable results,
O-Aoetylacetessigester in those for chemical syntheses. only valuable C-acetylacetoacetic ester
in rubber mixtures of the two esters by heating the mixture to temperatures above 80 °
rearranged in the presence of esters and alkaline alkali salts.
Salze alkalisch reagierende Alkalisalze organischer Säuüen verwendet. Als Ester
eignen sich z. B. Aoetessigester, Essigester; als alkalisch reagierendes Salz kommt
z. B. Natriumaoetat in Betracht.According to the invention, the procedure is that one thereby as such
Salts alkaline reacting alkali salts of organic acids used. As an ester
are suitable e.g. B. Aoetoacetic ester, ethyl acetate; comes as an alkaline reacting salt
z. B. sodium acetate into consideration.
The presence of inert solvents, e.g. B. P-etrolether, during the acetylation is often advantageous. The esters and the alkaline alkali metal salts of organic acids can be added to the reaction liquid containing the O- and C-ester mixture; However, they are expediently added during the above-mentioned preparation of the mixture of O- and C-acetylacetoacetic esters, so that the rearrangement can then also be carried out in one go. Lower-boiling fractions of the reaction mixture can already be distilled off during the rearrangement: the use of excess pressure is not excluded either. The work-up of the Re.aktionsgemisches usually takes place in such a way that after the Al) distill, -n z. B. the ethyl acetate g: - if necessary, using a vacuum. the salts are washed out with water. It is then carefully fractionated and pure C acetylacetoacetic ester is obtained, which can be used for further chemical reactions. EXAMPLE t By the action of 153 g of acetyl chloride in 100 cc of petroleum ether on the solution of a3 g of sodium in 400 g of acetoacetic ester at o 'with suction of sodium acetate, a mixture containing approximately equal parts of O and C acetylacetoacetate is formed with stirring. The petroleum ether is distilled off from this, and storage in the C-acetylacetoacetic ester is brought about by heating at 130 ° for 2 hours. After washing out the salts and distillation of the excess acetoacetic ester in a vacuum to a density of 1, O88, the residue is fractionated to obtain C-155- Acetylacetessigester be obtained. EXAMPLES The action of 100 g acetic anhydride on the solution of 23 g sodium in 100 g acetoacetic ester and 100 g petroleum ether results in a reaction mixture which contains O- and C-acetylacetoacetic esters in a ratio of about 1: 2. After the petroleum ether has been distilled off, the rearrangement takes place by heating to 95 to 1 20 'for 2 hours. The work-up is carried out as indicated in Example i, whereby 139 C acetylacetoacetic esters are obtained.
