Um das Hineinfallen fremder Körpertheile, besonders glühender Theile des Dochtes bezw.
das Eindringen der Flamme in das Bassin zu verhindern, wird ein verschiebbarer Auffangteller
t so auf den Boden 0 des Brenners η gelegt, dafs er denselben bedeckt, dabei jedoch
bequem herausnehmbar ist. Ein um den Teller t gehender, aufrecht stehender Rand r
hält die hinabgefallene Masse zusammen, die sich mehr in der Mitte ansammelt, da der
Brenner η oben enger als unten ist; ein Verschütten der Masse, selbst beim Herausnehmen
