Die vorliegende Erfindung hat zum Zweck die Anordnung eines Webstuhlgeschirres, mittelst dessen es möglich ist, über die bisherige Maximalzahl von 30 bis 40 Schäften in einem Stuhle hinauszugehen, dagegen die dreibis fünffache Schäftezahl, ohne gröfseren Platzbedarf zu beanspruchen, als in einem gewöhnlichen Hand- oder mechanischen Stuhl verfügbar ist, oder als für einen zu ersetzenden bezw. gleich leistungsfähigen Harnisch erforderlich wäre, einstellen zu können. Zugleich bezweckt die Erfindung die Herstellung mäfsig grofser Muster, aber gröfserer, als mit Schaftmaschinen bisher möglich war, in verschiedener Figurirung bezw. Bindung mit geringer Anzahl von Karten. Die Anordnung des neuen Geschirres ist in beiliegenden Zeichnungen dargestellt. Die Bethätigung der Schäfte erfolgt in bekannter Weise durch eine Jacquardmaschine A, im gewählten Beispiel mit 160 Platinen, weil 160 Schäfte zur Anwendung gebracht sind. Die Jacquardmaschine bietet, abgesehen von der neuen Einrichtung zum verticalen und horizontalen Verschieben des Nadelbrettes, was an sich auch bekannt, nichts Neues gegenüber einer ganz gewöhnlichen Jacquardmaschine. Um aber die den 160 Platinen entsprechenden 160 Schäfte in dem kleinen verfügbaren Raum unterzubringen, habe ich folgende Anordnung für die Schäfte getroffen: Die an den Platinen befestigten Schnüre oder Kordeln E werden zunächst durch ein in vier Abtheilungen /, II, III, IV getheiltes Lochbrett B gezogen, wovon jede Abtheilung je vier Reihen abcd mit ioLöchern enthält, also zusammen 4X4X 10 = 160 Löcher. Wollte man 200 Schäfte anordnen, so käme eine fünfte Abtheilung mit 4X10 Löchern hinzu, mehr oder weniger, je nach der gewollten Schäftezahl. Unterhalb des Lochbrettes B ordne ich ein dem Harnischbrett entsprechendes Schaftenbrett C an, das in seiner Längenausdehnung der Breite des herzustellenden Stoffes entspricht, das dagegen in der anderen Richtung, d. i. derjenigen parallel zur Kette, so tief ist, dafs in ihm, den vier (fünf) Abtheilungen des Lochbrettes B entsprechend, links und rechts je ein viertheiliges Lochbrett D und D¹ eingesetzt werden kann.
