Elastic joint, in particular for the drive shafts of motor vehicles
The invention relates to an elastic joint, in particular for the drive shafts
of motor vehicles, with two connected by a rubber body, in cross section
as parts of cone-shaped clutch disks on the shaft ends that run through
a ball joint are supported on each other.
Elastic joints with two connected by a rubber body.,
Clutch disks shaped as parts of cones in cross-section are already known.
Here, the rubber body is shaped as part of a hollow cylinder, so that the for
the cross-sectional area of the rubber body, which is decisive for the transmission of the torque, is smaller
remains as the adhesive surfaces of the also are the clutch disks. only about
the rubber body supported against each other, so that the rubber body in addition to the torsional forces
is also loaded by transverse forces (weight and centrifugal forces): As a result
the different zones of the rubber body are subjected to different levels of stress and
insofar not evenly used to transmit the torque. In the end-
if the tips of the clutch disks do not coincide at one point either, so
that the joint is one. Center lacks. The consequence of this is that the rubber body
deformed in a confusing way in the flexed state and his flexing work unnecessary
is increased. There are also beautifully elastic joints - with two .by one rubber body
connected, designed as cylindrical flanges. Clutch discs known,
which are supported by a ball joint. The rubber body is here
designed either as a cylindrical disc or as a ring with a U-shaped cross-section
and alternately by means of driving bolts or adhesive connections on the clutch disks
attached. In this case, although the ball joint relieves the rubber body from the
any occurring transverse forces; however, the rubber body is affected by the torsional forces
only partially and, there, it does not coincide with the center of the ball-and-socket joint
possesses ideal center, also only unevenly deformed by the bending forces,
so that his: Volume remains incompletely used. The consequence of this is that flexing work
and flexion resistance of these joints become unnecessarily large.
In contrast, the novelty of the invention is that the center
of the rubber body formed as part of a hollow ball and the tips of the clutch plates
coincide with the center of the ball joint. The for the transfer of the
In this case, the cross-sectional area of the rubber body which is decisive for the torque corresponds
the adhesive surfaces of the clutch disks; so that not only an expedient utilization
the
Adhesive surfaces, but also a completely uniform utilization
of the rubber volume is reached under the torsional forces. Slide the rubber body now
has an ideal center that coincides with the center of the ball joint,
if it is deformed evenly by the forces of flexion, weighed by flexing and
Resistance to flexion decreases and the adhesive surfaces are largely relieved. This
Joint therefore has a longer service life with greater breaking strength; in the
Compared to the known joints, the rubber volume is also better, used,
because the torque that can be transmitted at a certain angle of rotation is stronger
increases than the additional weight caused by the hollow spherical shape. This joint lets
therefore due to its lower rubber mass related to the transmittable torque
also produce particularly economically.
The subject matter of the invention is illustrated in more detail in the drawing.
It shows FIG. I a vertical section through the articulated connection when it is extended
and FIG. 2 shows a corresponding section with shafts inclined to one another.
o, I I ;gesichert.
Quetsch- und Dehnzone liegen beim Umlauf . der Wellen I o, I I absolut
The clutch disks 2, 3 are fixed by groove profiles q., 5 on the shaft ends 6, 7 and by collars 8, 9 against axial displacement on the shafts. i o, I I ; secured. The shaft end 6 has a cylindrical extension 12 with a bore I 2a into which the spherical extension 13 of the shaft end 7 engages. The center o of the ball stud 13 determines the center of the joint. The. Adhesive surfaces 14, I 5 of the clutch disks 2, 3 are shaped like cones, the tips of which are in your center o. Between the adhesive surfaces 1q., 1 5, the rubber body 16, which is formed by a hollow sphere around the center O and the ball joint 12, 13 encloses extends. If the shaft II is swiveled out, for example, by the angle a, the transverse center plane M of the joint automatically adjusts itself to the bisector. The part of the rubber body 1 6 lying on the inner side of the flexion is squeezed, while the part lying on the outer side is stretched. Crush and stretch zones are in the circulation. of the waves I, O, II absolutely still; relative to the rubber body 16 they rotate at the speed of the shaft without changing the position of the transverse center plane M. Such an elastic joint works uniformly, somewhat like a fixed joint with double flexion. The uniformity of the squeezing and stretching is maintained in the most favorable way by the hollow spherical shape of the coupling body and the conical shape of the clutch disks. The centrifugal forces of the articulated shaft II are absorbed by the ball joint 12, 13, which in this way not only serves for centering, but also at the same time to support the shafts. If the wave I0 z. B. rigidly mounted in the axle housing, the shaft II can sag freely.
Kupplungsscheiben 2, 3 an _den Bunden 8, 9 festsitzen.
The joint is expediently made so that the clutch disks
form a whole with the rubber body 16; in this the shaft ends 6, 7
together with their projections 12, 13 inserted from both sides until the hubs of the
Clutch disks 2, 3 are tight on collars 8, 9. Since the joint is in axial
Direction compliant ', and indeed within fairly wide limits, play the installation inaccuracies
not matter. A considerable axial thrust can also be absorbed by the joint.
The invention is not restricted to this exemplary embodiment.
Instead of the axially unguided ball joint, an axially guided one can also be used
Kicking the joint. The ball joint can also be replaced by another universal joint
will. How the coupling body is connected to the coupling discs,
is irrelevant to the invention. A direct adhesive bond is useful for this
chosen.
