In gleicher Weise hängt daher
auch der dem Gleichrichter zugeführte Wechselstrom von der Batteriespannung ab.Automatic charging device for electrical collectors Rectifiers are used to charge electrical collectors on the alternating current network. The DC charging current supplied by such rectifiers is reduced. the lower the higher the counter voltage of the battery rises. In the same way, the alternating current supplied to the rectifier therefore also depends on the battery voltage.
Batterie, also bei

abnimmt. The invention relates to an automatic charging device which is based on this dependence of the alternating current supplied to the rectifier on the battery voltage. It consists of a StromwandleY whose primary winding is in the AC circuit of the charging rectifier G. The secondary winding% of the current transformer is connected to a second, smaller rectifier g, which is connected to the battery terminals via a relay U. The secondary winding tv, of the current transformer is also loaded by a fixed or adjustable ohmic or complex resistance R. The resistor f2 is dimensioned so that the active or apparent power consumed by it is of the same or higher order of magnitude than the power consumed by the rectifier g. It is achieved in that the alternating voltage at the rectifier g is approximately proportional to the alternating current feeding the rectifier G. The rectifier g only delivers a current to the battery when the peak value of the alternating voltage supplied to the rectifier g is above the charging voltage of the battery. As soon as this peak value is equal to or less than the battery voltage, the working winding of the relay U is de-energized and disconnects the entire charging device from the alternating current source. The resistor R can be set so that the switch-off when the battery is fully charged, i.e. when up to 2,; Volts per cell. ' Durbh the VW1 adjustability of the resistance R is feriier # e-

direction of the charging characteristics of a beli @ '"# bi, -, --- i rectifier, provided that this is falling, so that the charging current decreases with increasing charging voltage.
The current transformer is also connected to a further primary
ivi provided and the relay U designed as a changeover relay. After the charge has ended
the relay disconnects the charging rectifier from the AC source and connects
at the same time the winding w of the current transformer with the alternating current source. With matching
Sizing this winding is achieved that the peak value of the alternating current source
The AC voltage supplied to the rectifier g via the current transformer is the battery voltage
exceeds as soon as it falls below a certain level as a result of progressive discharge
Value, e.g. B. 1.8 volts per cell has decreased. The rectifier then delivers again
Current through the working winding of the relay, so that this the charging rectifier G
reconnects to the AC power source and the winding iri of the current transformer
from the alternating current source. The loading process takes place again as described above.
The progress of the described automatic charging device compared to
already known facilities is i. that due to the adjustability
of the resistor R the charging device of each charging current characteristic of rectifiers
can be adjusted, as long as this is only a falling, 2. that also as a result
the adjustability of the resistor R the initial charging voltage and the final charging voltage
of the battery can be freely selected when switching the rectifier on or off
can that by training the relay as eumschaltrelais and by placing a
second primary winding on the current transformer, the charging device to a fully automatic
can be made.
