Description
Process for the recovery of calcium hypochlorite compounds According to A known process can be used, from alkalis, which in addition to effective chlorine calcium chloride contain, cause basic calcium hypochlorite to precipitate by adding lime. Such alkalis are created, for example, when chlorinated lime is dissolved in water. But they are also used in the production of calcium hypochlorite by chlorination concentrated lime porridge until the neutral calcium hypochlorite precipitates Separation of the latter obtained. Such alkalis represent a saturated solution of calcium chloride and calcium hypochlorite, the solution to the problem, the still existing effective chlorine content of the lyes from a technical utilization to be supplied, of considerable importance for the economic viability of the process is. The technical application of the method mentioned at the beginning is, however, `so far always failed because the precipitated basic calcium hypochlorite compounds immediately lose the character of a fine powdery precipitate and become more or baked less coherent masses, so that their separation from the mother liquor proved impracticable; they show because of their strongly fluctuating content of free hydrated lime has an indefinite composition.
It has now been found that the solidification of the precipitate on the due to the formation of calcium oxychloride at the temperatures used is and that by treating solutions of the type mentioned with lime at Temperatures above about 40 ° C, expediently at 8obisgo ° C, the the abuses described are avoided. The hardening of the failed connections does not occur, and rather easily filterable, powdery or fine-grained forms are formed permanent basic calcium hypochlorite compounds whose 'lime content is theoretically corresponds to the expected solubility ratios. Beyond that, succeed but with this method of operation, the effective chlorine content of the remaining To press down residual caustic much further than when working at normal temperature, by namely 8o0 / 0 and more of the effective chlorine of the starting liquor in the form of basic calcium hypochlorite compounds are recovered from the starting liquor; these behavioral differences appear to be due to the fact that the hot lye containing calcium chloride-calcium hypochlorite has an increased dissolving capacity for hydrated lime.
Surprisingly occurs when working in the marked temperature range there is no noticeable loss of effective chlorine due to the decomposition of hypochlorite.
The amount of lime added is expediently such that there are 2 moles of hydrated lime for every 1 mole of active chlorine. The hydrated lime can be added either as a dry powder or as an aqueous slurry in a ratio of about 6 parts by weight 1-120 to 5 parts by weight C a (OH), which further improves the filtration capacity of the product being deposited. Examples' i. 100 parts by volume corresponding to 1307 parts by weight of a calcium hypochlorite-calcium chloride-containing lye with 272 g / 1 total chlorine and 96 g / 1 active chlorine were suspended with the addition of 100 parts by weight of hydrated lime in the same weight of water, heated to 80 to 90 ° C and still biting off. 53o parts by weight of filter cake with = 60 / 0-84.6 parts by weight of active chlorine and 730 parts by volume of mother liquor with 16 g / 1-11.7 parts by weight of active chlorine were obtained. Of the 96 g / l of active chlorine contained in the starting liquor, 84.6 g / 1-8 g0 /, were thus recovered in the solid product obtained.
Die Analyse des letzteren ergab 34,4% wh'ks. Chlor, 23,5% ges. Chlor, 30,5% Ca0.Analysis of the latter gave 34.4% wh'ks. Chlorine, 23.5% sat. Chlorine, 30.5% Ca0.
Es wurden somit im festen Erzeugnis von ioo,8 g/1 wirksamem Chlor in der Ausgangslauge 82,8 g wiedergewonnen, was einer Ausbeute von 820/, entspricht.z. iooo parts by volume of a lye with 286 g / 1 total chlorine and ioo, 8 121 parts by weight of hydrated lime were added to g / 1 of active chlorine and C heated. After separation of the precipitate from the liquid phase were obtained 41i parts by weight of Nutschkuchen with 2ö, 20 /, effective chlorine and 78o parts by volume of lye with 19.9 g / 1 effective chlorine. There were thus 100.8 g / l recovered active chlorine in the starting liquor 82.8 g, which corresponds to a yield of 820 /, corresponds.
