Die bisherigen Skier sind auf die Anforderungen der Wedeltechnik abgestimmt. Die Biegesteifigkeit ist an Spitze und Ende gering und in der Mitte maximal. Insbesondere auf vereisten Pisten ist die Schleudertechnik der Wedeltechnik überlegen. Dieser Bereich ist weiterhin mit einer dünnen, elastischen Platte versehen, die in diesem Bereich eingebettet ist (Abb. 2).
