Abstract
The invention relates to a method for colouring thermoplastic synthetic materials on the basis of polyolefin homo- or copolymers, wherein at least one pigment from the isoindolin class is blended with the synthetic material and wherein an acidic reacting additive, which is a stronger acid than the pigment, is added to the synthetic material in such a manner that substances which react alkaline with respect to the pigment and which are possibly present in the synthetic material are converted into their acidic form. It was found that due to the addition of the acidic reacting additive, the isoindolin pigment will no longer discolour in the synthetic material. Preferably, a colour concentrate is previously prepared by melting a restricted amount of thermoplastic synthetic material together with the pigment and the acidic reacting additive.
