Abstract

An openable carton (35) is formed from a blank of stiff but foldable board material having a length of reinforcing material providing a tear strip (30) to delimit first (36) and second (37) carton parts which are hingedly connected after use of the tear strip. The tear strip (30) has a cut (32) formed in the length of reinforcing material to represent the end of the tear, residues of the said length(s) serving as reinforcement for the hinge connection (34) or the two parts (36, 37).

General state of the art

A box according to any preceding claim, characterized in that a clip (70) is housed in the box for holding the box parts (36, 37) together after actuation of the tear strip, the clip having a part (70a) securable to the lid (37) and a part (70b) securable to the body (36), each part (70a, 70b) being capable of being arranged in a feature provided in the cardboard material.
