Description
Process for the production of a durable, liquid fuel mixture from hard coal and oil Coal-oil-sulpensions, which are to be used as liquid fuels, do not have the necessary durability unless special measures or additives are used.
It has already been suggested - the shelf life of the suspension to achieve by the fact that the coal is ground so finely that in a reasonable time no settling can occur.
Such an extensive grinding of the coal, however, causes a disproportionate amount great effort in mechanical work so that the aim was tried on others Ways to achieve, and z # va-r through the use of protective colloids, so so-called Stabilizers, which should prevent or delay the settling of the coal.
Among other things, raw materials containing humus such as lignite, or from these isolated humic acid as well as insoluble Me (allhumate as stabilizers, nitrogen-containing organic bases alone or in combination recommended with phenolein.
It was also known that in the presence of humus substances in suspensions from coal and tar oils particularly good durability of the mixtures is to be achieved. However, this effect cannot be attributed to the organic base content of the tar oils, like pyridine etc., because in normal tar oils the bases come only chemically bound to phenols, i.e. in a form in which they are not capable to react with humic acids. The observed good durability of such Mixtures cannot affect the stabilizing effect of the reaction product due to humic acids and organic bases, but to others Circumstances such as B. the high specific weight of the tar oils.
According to the invention are now used as stabilizers for coal-oil suspensions not only, as already suggested, Hunius fabrics used, but also also basic bodies, which come from tars of all kinds.
It was found that: that the stabilizing effect of humus substances significantly increased by treatment with basic bodies made from tars of all kinds can be.
A simple mixture of the components is often sufficient for this. This new stabilizing agent also does not contain any substances that contribute to. the combustion to undesirable side effects leadership reindeer, by increasing the ash content of the fuel or substantially reduce the ash melting point, as shown at denjeni-Z, Oren Sta bilisierungsmitteln is the case, containing alkali or Schivermetallverbindungen as stabilizers.
Raw lignite or peat are advantageously used as humus materials, possibly without or only with moderate predrying. With good success, too A lignite can be used as the starting material, which is extracted by extracting the Bitumen has been more or less largely withdrawn.
The tar bases need not at all in a pure state applied to com- men. On the contrary, it is often expedient to allow the bases to act on the humic substances in a mixture with oil , so that the reaction of the bases to the humic substances, which is associated with a considerable development of heat, is delayed. It is also possible to use oils or residues which by themselves already have a certain content of organic bases. These must be in free form, i.e. not bound to tar acids, so that they can react with the humic acids. It was found in general that the effect of the time -., In which the bases during the Herstellun g of the coal-oil suspension may be contacted with the humic substances for the reaction, is substantially independent, so that depending on the available facilities, etc. this reaction can take place in any phase of the manufacture of the suspension.
It has been suggested to use suspensions of charcoal in alcohol. produced with the addition of alcohol-soluble inorganic or organic bases. The coal-alcohol system is differentiated from the coal-oil system with regard to the stability of the suspension and with regard to the stabilizing effect of additives in such a way that conclusions cannot be drawn from one area to the other. Example i 3ookg of raw lignite with a water content of about 16% are ground in a ball mill. During the milling, 10 g pyridine bases are added. The result is a dry, brown powder, which is removed from the mill after it has cooled down and mixed with 4580kg of commercially available dust coal (hard coal) and with 5oook heating oil in a suitable device. The result is a tar-like liquid that can be stored, b2-promoted and burned in the same way as heating oil. - Example 2 3 ounces of commercially available lignite dust are mixed with 4580 kg of commercially available hard coal dust and added, with stirring, to a mixture of 50 ounces of coal tar heating oil and 12 ounces of pyridine bases. The temperature during the mixing process should be about 5o'- '. The tar-like liquid obtained can be used like heating oil. EXAMPLE 3 300 kg of commercially available lignite dust are mixed, roughly 500 kg of heating oil and 10 g of pyridine bases, with a considerable increase in temperature. The reaction product is mixed with 4500kg heating oil and 458ok commercially available hard coal dust. The same product is obtained in this production process as in the working methods described under i and 2.
