Der Gesprächszeitmesser hat den Zweck, die Zeitdauer der Benutzung des Fernsprechers zu messen und diese einzelnen Gesprächszeiten zu addiren. Dieselbe besteht hauptsächlich aus einer Uhr mit einem Auslöse- und einem Hemmungswerk, das durch die Bewegung des Schalthakens beim Abheben bezw. Anhängen des Fernsprechers in Wirkung tritt. Aufserdem mufs dafür gesorgt werden, dafs der Fernsprecher nur dann benutzt werden kann, wenn das Uhrwerk aufgezogen ist, und daher auch das Ablaufen des Uhrwerks rechtzeitig angezeigt werden.
