Description

Fixing and isolating means for dental cement fillings The invention relates to a fastening and insulating means for dental cement fillings, which thereby is characterized in that liquid boric acid esters, optionally mixed with liquid silicic acid esters, resins, and balsans are used. As particularly suitable the comparatively low-boiling trimethyl borate (S.P. 65 °) and boric acid triethyl ester (S.P. 19 °); also the ethyl, isoamyl and Phenyl esters of boric acid are found to be useful.

Compared to the known use of silicic acid alkyl esters or Resin solutions of such esters offer the boric acid esters the considerable advantage that they are more mobile, diffuse faster and saponify faster. Further In contrast to silica, the boric acid that forms here is a pronounced one tissue-friendly body and has an antiseptic effect there. She is divorcing as an extremely fine and soft powder that does not irritate the tissues in any way. The boric acid esters mix in every ratio with the silicic acid esters, and make good solvents for resins, balms, disinfectants, such as thymol or Chlorisothymol, and can be produced more easily and in a larger selection, and moreover cheaper than the silicic acid ester.

For all these reasons, they are ideally suited, alone or in mixtures with silicic acid esters, to antiseptically impregnate organic, non-perfused tissue residues, to make them unsuitable for bacterial growth and, when introduced in compact form, to create a tight plug, as is the case with root filling compounds, for example is required, or in order to free carious dentine from the caries bacteria, to make it insensitive to them, to eliminate the caries process and to make softened dentin hard and resistant again, in order to finally exclude secondary caries as a prophylactic underfilling of all kinds, ium, as in. Patent 551617 stated to protect the pulp from irritation, especially of the silirate cement. to serve as a connecting link between them and the cavity wall. Embodiments: Example i A liquid mixture of @ .; Share B acid triethyl ester, 45 parts of boric acid methyl ester, 5 parts rosin, 5 parts Thymol is suitable for root filling zr Connection with iodoform powder. EXAMPLE 2 A liquid mixture of 35 parts triethyl borate, 50 parts tetramethyl silicate, ro parts Venetian turpentine, 5 parts thymol is suitable for hardening softened dentine. Example 3 A liquid mixture of 20 parts of boron "urephenyl ester, qo parts of boric acid triethyl @ter; qo parts of silica tetramethyl ester m @ Lynet turns out to be underfill; especially at ilicate cement.
