Description

Method for generating howling tones by means of a siren arrangement with revolving audio frequency and revolving compressed air generator, each from a motor sirens are required for air protection purposes, for example, which produce tones of modulated frequency. This modulation was previously due to this achieved, i.e. that the siren was switched on and off at certain short time intervals, which caused the sound to howl in and out. The disadvantage of this method is that with decreasing speed the air output and thus the sound energy, as is known, decreases approximately to the third power, d. that is, that the low notes are opposite the normal high tones of the siren no longer have a sufficiently long range. The siren must therefore be completely in order to achieve the same range for all pitches be built considerably larger.

The invention described below is now also intended for any modulated frequency of the tone c: ne practically constant sound power achieve. That. Method for generating howling tones by means of a siren arrangement with revolving audio frequency and revolving compressed air generator, each from a motor are driven, according to the invention is that to achieve the same volume at different sound frequencies the compressed air generator with constant speed rotates, while the drive motor of the audio frequency generator in the speed. respectively. Direction of rotation is changed or reversed. When driven by an electric motor you can choose the arrangement of two drive motors, one of which is for the compressed air generator rotates at a constant speed, while the speed and possibly also the direction of rotation of the other motor is changed to achieve the desired tone modulation. The mode of operation of the invention will be explained using an example in which an impeller and a perforated ring are arranged as parts serving for tone formation.

In the drawing, the siren impeller b is driven as a compressed air generator by the electric motor a at a constant speed and direction of rotation. According to the desired pitch, this impeller has a number of chambers c, to which the same number of openings of the perforated ring e corresponds. This ring e is driven by a motor f, which can work in both directions of rotation. The frequency modulation is achieved in such a way that the motor / is switched on alternately in one and the other direction of rotation. The audio frequency generated depends on the difference or the sum of the two speeds of the impeller b and the perforated ring e. Is z. For example, if the impeller is operated by a two-pole three-phase motor with 1t = 2goo, while the perforated ring is operated by a ten-pole motor with an idle speed of r - 50o, the following sound frequencies result with an assumed number of chambers of 9: When the perforated ring runs in the same. Sense of rotation relative speed: 2900-5o0 = 2400 audio frequency When the perforated ring is running in the opposite direction, relative speed: 2900 -E- 500 - 34.90 audio frequency The audio frequency can thus be changed by switching the auxiliary motor between 350 and 50o. Due to the constant speed of the compressed air generator, the air output of the siren remains practically the same in all cases, ie the range of the siren is practically the same from the lowest to the highest audio frequency. Another advantage is that for the purpose of generating the modulation, only an auxiliary motor of low power has to be reversed, while in the known methods when switching off and on, the entire motor power of the siren drive motor always had to be switched off and on.
