Bei Einleitung einer Rückfrageverbindung seitens einer Nebenstelle (Nachtstelle) werden Schaltmittel beeinflußt, die der Nebenstelle über Umschalteinrichtungen unmittelbar Zugang zu den Verbindungseinrichtungen der Nebenstellenzentrale geben, mittels welcher die Hauptstelle ankommende Amtsverbindungen zu den Nebenstellen aufbaut, und zwar betätigen diese Schaltmittel die gleichen Umschalteinrichtungen, mittels welcher die Hauptstelle beim Aufbau einer ankommenden Amtsverbindung an die Verbindungseinrichtungen angeschaltet wird.
