Description
Process for removing sulfur compounds from coal distillation gases and the like The invention relates to the complete removal of hydrogen sulfide from carbon distillation gases, a wash at normal pressure and a final wash subjected to increased pressure (pipeline pressure) by means of alkaline washing solutions of compounds of the tin group of qualitative analysis, such as arsenic, alkali, sulfur, Oxygen salts.
When removing hydrogen sulfide from carbon distillation gases by means of the washing solution marked above, the used washing liquid is removed regenerated by treating it with air or other .oxidizing gases will. These gases release elemental sulfur from the scrubbing solution, which in the form of it a foam is separated from the aerated washing liquid. If you take the Removal of hydrogen sulfide in a manner known per se in two stages before, whereby in the second stage: there is an increased gas pressure, so come up when using alkaline washing liquid, considerable difficulties due to the Solids contained in the washing liquid (sulfur). The ones from the under increased Gas pressure washer of the second process stage in the regeneration device The washing solution to be withdrawn must be relaxed. The relaxation facilities required for this but become clogged as a result of the solids contained in the washing liquid so easy that such a way of working is practically out of the question. It Although it is conceivable per se, expansion devices between the washer and regeneration devices to be avoided by, even in the regeneration device under increased pressure is working. Such a way of working, however, is disadvantageous because it is the regeneration air must be compressed to a higher pressure, which with considerable Associated operating costs. There is no reduction in the regeneration air here permissible because the regeneration air, in addition to the chemical effect on the washing solution, which itself goes on at increased speed at increased pressure, too still cause the mechanical discharge (flotation) of the precipitated sulfur must, a process that is based solely on the amount of gaseous agent the unit of volume, depends.
The present invention now seeks to overcome the aforementioned Difficulties in the pressure washing of the gas to be cleaned in the second process stage to be carried out only with freshly prepared washing solution, d. H. so, with a washing solution, which does not yet contain elemental sulfur (or any other solid matter, and which used washing solution of the pressure stage with the washing solution of the process stage, in which is worked under normal pressure for the purpose of recovery and further use to unite.
A fresh wash solution of the one marked at the beginning Art has a very pleasant capacity for absorbing sulfur and hydrogen. It does not yet contain or only contains'. untergeoi-dnc.en sets those substances which, such as thiosulphate, rliodane precursors and the like, in the course of gas cleaning and regeneration arise and which easily crystallize and become one permanent; n replacement of the theoretically Force the washing solution to be used indefinitely. Since the according to the invention Washing solution to be used in the pressure stage is neither solid nor easily crystallized Contains substances, there is no risk of clogging of the outlet and expansion organs, which are provided at the outlet of the washer of the pressure stage to the exhausted Remove part of the washing liquid. Any downsides are with using it the fresh washing solution in the pressure stage is not connected as it is for the alkaline Gas cleaning process, from a chemical point of view, does not matter whether as a substitute for that compounds lost with the rejected amounts of washing solution, for example Arsenic-oxygen compounds, arsenic acid or sulphurized arsenic compounds - as according to the invention - are supplied.
In the practice of the invention, for example, from the main amount of the gases to be cleaned at normal or moderately increased pressure Hydrogen sulfide up to about 9a: 'to 950, u washed out. The rest of the sulfur, hydrogen is in it under pipeline pressure from the gas into a relatively small, cheap washer removed, which a freshly prepared alkaline solution of arsenic Acid is supplied. A small washer is preferably used as the washer in the pressure stage Bell washer of about five to ten floors, which with relatively simple means, for example, by moderately increasing the wall thickness, can be made peep-proof can.
Aus dieser Überlegung erhellt, daß die erfindungsgemäß vorgesehene Feitircinigung in der Druckstufe eine Vornahme ist, zu deren Durchführung einfache und kleine Apparate genügen.arsenic compounds, for example arsenic urc, are used in solo solution dissolved and 'solution fed to the top floor of the pressure 4-ashes, where appropriate a certain amount of regenerated solution from the first washing stage is still supplied can be. The fresh washing solution eagerly absorbs hydrogen sulfide and causes complete absorption of the small amount of hydrogen sulfide, which is still contained in the gas after the first process stage. Contains for example the gas originally b g H = S'cbm and becomes hydrogen sulfide in the first process stage washed out to 95 () o, the pressure washer only has to take up about 0.4 g H_S cbm. From this consideration it is evident that the Feitirinigung provided according to the invention in the pressure stage is an undertaking to carry out simple and small apparatus suffice.
