Als farbige Pigmente für die genannte Verwendung sind freilich Bleijodid und Zinnsulfid bekanntgeworden, ohne sich aber durchsetzen zu können. Bleijodid ist für das große Anwendungsgebiet der Kunststoffe aus Casein, beispielsweise also des Kunsthornes, gänzlich ungeeignet, da es wasserlöslich ist.
