Die durch Patent No. 61426 geschützte Wagenbremse, welche durch Anheben der Deichsel bethätigt werden" kann, ist vorzugsweise für Handwagen bestimmt. Dieselbe kann jedoch auch für ein durch Zugthiere bewegtes Fuhrwerk geeignet gemacht werden, wenn man das geradlinig bewegte Bremsgestänge D mit der Zahnstange C durch eine drehbare Welle ersetzt, welche an Armen die Bremsklötze trägt und mit Zahnrädern oder einzelnen Zähnen ausgerüstet ist, in- welche die an der Scheere oder bei Zweispännern an der Deichsel sitzenden, dem Zahntrieb B des Haupt-Patentes entsprechenden Zahntriebe eingreifen. Durch das Zuggeschirr tragen die Pferde in der üblichen Weise die Scheere bezw. Deichsel, und wenn der Kutscher mittelst der Zügel die Pferde aufhält, so heben diese erfahrungsgemäfs beim Pariren die Scheere bezw. die Deichsel an. Dieser Umstand soll zur Bethätigung der Bremse benutzt werden.
