Verfahren zur Herstellung von Natriumazid Natriumazid wird nach der Synthese von Wislicenus aus Natriumamid und Stickoxydul dargestellt. In denn Patent 302 561 ist angegeben, daß die Reaktion zwischen Natriumamid und Stickoxydul sehr langsam verläuft. Dieses Patent sucht nun durch lebhafte Rührung und dauernde Zerkleinerung der festwerdenden Reaktionsmasse die Reaktionszeit abzukürzen. Der Zweck wird aber nur sehr unvollkommen erreicht, da die Reaktionsmasse anfangs flüssig ist, um später breiig und teigig zu werden.Process for the preparation of sodium azide Sodium azide is presented after the synthesis of Wislicenus from sodium amide and nitric oxide. Zweckmäßig wird das aus viel Natriumazid und Ätznatron und wenig Natriumamid bestehende Gemisch hierbei gerührt oder in Bewegung gehalten. Es gelingt auf diese Weise; die Umsetzungszeit auf etwa den vierzigsten Teil der nach dem Verfahren des Patents 302 561: 1aenötigten Zeit abzukürzen. Diese überraschende Wirkung wird offenbar dadurch erreicht, daß dem Stickoxydul eine außerordentlich viel größere Oberfläche von Natriumamid dargeboten wird, weil sich das Amid in der pulverigen bis krümeligen Masse aufsaugt.It has now been found through extensive experiments that the duration of the reaction can be shortened extremely sharply if only a small amount of sodium amide is added to the finished reaction product, which consists of equivalent proportions of sodium azide and caustic soda.
