Description
So nimmt z. Process for the separation of carbonic acid from carbonated gases The invention relates to a method for separating carbonic acid from carbonated ones Gases with the help of chromate solutions. It has been found that alkali monochromate solutions at higher temperatures, especially at temperatures between 50 and 100 °, below Pressure are able to absorb considerable amounts of carbonic acid from carbonic acid-containing gases and that the carbonic acid absorbed by simple pressure relief becomes the: solutions can be withdrawn again. So takes z. B. i cbm one heated to 6o to 8o ° saturated sodium chromate solution at 5 atmospheres of carbon, acid partial pressure in i Hour 7okg of carbonic acid, which when depressurized at the same temperature is released again practically completely in a high degree of purity. It recommends the escape of the carbonic acid by vigorous stirring and if necessary by heating above the temperatures prevailing during absorption. It is known to carbonate from carbonated gases through potash solution absorb under a pressure of z to 5 atmospheres at ordinary temperature. To recover the carbonic acid from these solutions it is necessary that Heat the solution to the boiling point for a longer period of time after the pressure has been relieved. This known method thus requires as compared to the method of this invention a considerably greater amount of heat.
