Abstract

A control method of an air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to prevent undershoot phenomenon of an evaporator, and to improve comfort of passengers by outputting a discharge capacity control value of a compressor just before turning off the A/C switch to control discharge capacity of the compressor. A control method of an air conditioner for a vehicle comprises the steps of: judging whether an A/C switch is turned on(S500); judging whether evaporator temperature before turn-off of the A/C switch reaches a target temperature when the A/C switch is turned on(S510); judging whether lapse time to turn-on timing after turn-off of the A/C switch is within control time when the evaporator temperature before turn-off of the A/C switch reaches the target temperature(S540); outputting a discharge capacity control value of a compressor just before turning off the A/C switch, controlling a pressure control valve, and performing proportional integration control(S560); judging whether the A/C switch is turned off after progressing the proportional integration control(S570); and counting and storing the lapse time to turn-on timing after turn-off of the A/C switch(S590).
