Abstract

The knife packaging (1) is intended for protecting the cutting edge (4) of a knife blade (3) and comprises two portions, which between them define a flat chamber for accommodating the knife blade (3). One of the portions (6) comprises a holding mechanism (14) with a friction member (16) for retaining the knife blade (3) in the packaging (1) by friction between a side face (9) of the knife blade (3) and the friction member (16), said friction member (16) being movable between an engagement position and a release position, in which it engages and releases, respectively, the side face (9) of the knife blade.
