Process for the production of single or multi-colored prints by means of

Another embodiment of the patent 585 262, according to which single or multi-colored prints
are produced by means of image-wise tanned gelatin layers in such a way that
that the dye absorbed by the gelatin relief is temporarily insoluble in water
or sparingly soluble form is fixed, the squeezing onto the gelatin relief
Substances are incorporated into the picture base, which fix the dye in the gelatin relief
counteract. These substances are advantageously chosen so that they protect the people who have migrated over
Precipitate the dye immediately and make it completely insoluble in water.
The further development of the method aims to be waterproof
The dye in the gelatin relief is not bound by using special baths,
but in a much easier and safer way through a special preparation
the gelatine forming the relief. It is already known to make it easier to dye
of the gelatin relief infusor earth, barite or the like. These funds work
but purely physically as a result of an increase in the porosity of the relief. The invention
on the other hand, provides for the waterproof binding of the dye of the relief gelatine
add chemically acting agents in colloidal form and consists in that
basic dyes (e.g. methylene blue) with the help of non-hydrated colloids
in which the relief-forming colloid are bound waterproof, such that this
Binding only through contact with an appropriately chemically prepared printing paper
split and the dye is deposited in the layer of the same.
The direct binding of the dye to the gelatin relief is achieved
according to the process, on the one hand, through an appropriate choice of the dyes used
causes it to change the affinity of certain dyes, specifically basic ones
Dyes (e.g. methylene blue, acridine red, thioflavin yellow) are used for gelatine
and on the other hand this still by the management of the emulsion process in the following
